but then you know the cycle continues and yeah another three to four days pass and you’ve already relapsed again so here’s exactly how I beat the beginning stages and how I would recommend you beat them step one is really just to identify all your triggers kind of take a different perspective from this try to look at yourself as like a third person just for a little bit and just experiment a little for me I always relapse whenever I would Doom scroll and had nothing to do and for a while there I would always come home from school and that would be part of my routine would be go to the bathroom and relapse once I figured out these things I found ways to beat them so kind of just take like a few days and see what triggers your mind and that actually reminds me another thing that I would do is I would play a lot of competitive video games like OverWatch ranked fortnite and these competitive environments would piss me off if I lost and I know it’s just a game but younger me was not the best at handling his emotions so I would get upset when I lost and i’ be like all right all right bro [ __ ] this I’m going to go jerk off now because I was stressed out about it so maybe that’s you but once I learned okay if you’re going to play video games then play something that doesn’t like make you pissed off and basic advice but once you identify the triggers it’s a lot easier to quit next you’re going to want to set up some boundaries kind of like that example I was sent of how I would relapse after school well I would create a boundary so I didn’t do that I wouldn’t take my phone into the bathroom right after school if you stay up late and relapse then just don’t stay up late you got to be a bit more disciplined with it but over time these boundaries actually become habits and a part of your identity so then it’s pretty easy to keep going but you have to identify all the triggers first like I said because if you leave one trigger unchecked then that’s going to be what keeps causing you to relapse so after the triggers are identified set up the boundaries so that way all of them are covered and you don’t have to worry about the triggers for the next week or so cuz then after about a week the urges will get stronger but that’s for later video I just want you to get to the first week of no fap the third step is to work it’s so easy to go seven days if you just work and have something to do I go to school 5 days a week work at my part-time job three days a week and work on this in creating videos like I have no time to relapse and you could honestly even work on like pointless [ __ ] too there’s no harm in that I’m not saying you have to work on a business or a YouTube channel like sometimes if I have a day like Thursdays are the days where I usually don’t have much to do I’ll come home and kind of think of a plan in my head just because that’s who I am I always like trying to plan out the next day but if I have nothing to do I’ll plan out like the next hour and just do like [ __ ] I don’t like doing I’ll fold my laundry maybe I’ll go downstairs and do some sort of Mobility routine I keep my mind occupied and when your mind’s occupied you have no room to think about porn and relapsing and honestly it’s actually better too if none of that works like the working if you don’t have any of that then go to a party I’m not suggesting you do that all the time because I actually know people that quit porn before I did but they’ replace that habit with drugs and smoking weed so that’s not what we’re trying to do we’re just trying to quit porn and build good habits not replace them with bad habits but if that’s what helps you kind of change your mindset for a second maybe on a Friday or a Saturday you go to a party and you have no urges then by all means go for it just don’t let the habit of drinking and drugs replace the habit of no fap because then you’ll have another problem to deal with and also bro you just have to understand that everybody has a small hump that they have to get over for me it was always 3 to four days I could go one two maybe three but usually by the fourth day I would relapse some people it’s the first day some people it’s the sixth day some people it’s the seventh day it’s different for everybody but once you get over that small hump then you can usually keep going for quite a bit longer like for example if I always relapsed on day four then I could usually get to day seven without relapsing you know the day after but then you know I might relapse on day seven because now my next hurdle is to get to two weeks you see it’s kind of like just one hurdle you have to get over once you make that breakthrough then you can go even further but then you’re going to have to set up different boundaries and change yourself to get to two weeks a month 3 months 6 months a year and so on and so forth step five is to not give it any more attention than you need to I don’t want you to constantly think about quitting porn think about getting to the next day it’s actually better if you don’t count the days at all but you can celebrate some progress like if you usually relapse after 3 to four days and you get to day six or a week and yeah you can celebrate that that’s fine but the more you think about it the more attention you give it then the more likely you’re going to go back to it at some point so just try to ignore it at all cost and kind of run away from it instead of just thinking about it and actually another point with that is I always would think one more day just go one more day and you could probably guess what happens I would relapse that next day so if you have that mindset of just going one more day then you’re more than likely going to relapse that next day so just try not to think about it and try just try not to think about going a set amount of days after that you feel that initial urge and just focus on the bigger picture of improving yourself and just getting to work on some other activities now this is more of a disclaimer than an action step you shouldn’t have a single PE at all if you see an Instagram model on reals immediately close that [ __ ] blocker you know don’t recommend content because if you have one Peak it Sparks that dopamine and you’re going to want more and it’s a lot harder to quit if you are on that kind of like tunnel vision of just scrolling cuz you’re waiting to see the next Instagram Auto so by no means should you have a Peak at all keep that mindset with you for a week just keep telling yourself nope no need to look no need to look focus on something else and it becomes a lot easier to go that first seven days all right so now you’ve built yourself a system and built yourself into a new person who doesn’t relapse in seven days who doesn’t watch porn now the next step is to destroy this identity and build yourself the identity of a person who can go two weeks and there’ll be a more in-depth video on this but for now just celebrate that you got to your first week of nofap and also usually if you are really struggling and you need to change your identity for the first week or the second week then change something drastic about your appearance I actually buzzed my head a while ago I believe winter of 2023 and just that drastic change can make it symbolize that okay this is who I am now I will not relapse for a whole week or two whole weeks I actually even considered getting a tattoo I haven’t gotten one yet I don’t know if I will because there’s not really much of a need for me to get one but you see my point like if you can change your identity and make a drastic change to your appearance it becomes a lot easier to keep going with nofap so that was my system for going a week on nofap try it out and let me know if it works I hope it does and I hope you can actually start to see some progress .
