at pornography but how do we plan our family you know reverence in the bedroom for this gift of sexuality like what does that look like hello and welcome to another perusia podcast I’m shab your host and you probably noticed the studio looks a bit different but we’re very excited to be co-hosting with the Against the Grain podcast I’m with Father Ben civa and Anthony and the team and everyone else and but Jason EV is our guest today and uh we’re here on tour with him and so we’re going to be talking about Chastity the importance of it and a range of other topics so I hope you enjoy the show we things today CU this is our collaboration that’s right so we’re all going to talk we’re going to have an honest chat we’re going to talk about the things that are on our heart we’ve had people at home that have emailed in questions okay about all sorts of things relationship sexuality trans ideology all sorts of things so we want to get into that we’re going to do it charitably as we always do with compassion and with love because unlike the mainstream media we know since you’ve been coming here to Australia that’s all you’ve ever been about compassion and love and the way you speak I mentioned in the podcast we did last year all of your material literally changed my life it opened up my heart into what relationships are supposed to be about how to actually love authentically and to see myself as a beloved Son of God and that was your material that did that but the mainstream media unfortunately are not covering that about you at the moment and I just want to get your feel on what’s going on at the moment yeah it was interesting I was reading one of the articles I think it was on ABC or whatever it was and and uh they had reached out to us for comment and you know what are you saying about all these things and and I sent them a couple paragraphs full of content clarifying all these things and then when the article was published you know it had all the accus ations and then it said and we reached out to Jason ever for comment period no comment but they didn’t put any of the comments in there because they know if they had even included a single sentence of what I had written it totally would have disrupted The Narrative that this is some misogynistic homophobic transphobic bigot who hates all these young people and is going to cause danger to them because I I I think they probably looked at it’s like we can’t put a single sentence in it because it will upend the entire Narrative of what we’re trying to portray so we’ll just say we reached out for him for comment yeah and and don’t believe us listening and viewing audience at home don’t believe us the hundreds and thousands probably millions of young people that you’ve reached in your time speaking none of them are going to say that is Jason’s message because I left a beautiful event today we all just come from that event the 1010 conference what was the vibe like it was overwhelming I mean the young people in every break they were fling Jason I wanted photos with him they they pulled their hearts out to him and Jason was generous with his time and we had over a thousand high schoolers today from all across the Sydney Arch dasis and you know they were on fire they loved it it was it was a buzz such a great day and we need to hear more about that because we only ever hear the opposite and the opposite isn’t even true I think before we recorded Jason you were saying if it was true what the media was writing about you you would have signed petitions and boycotted your own talk oh yeah yeah that was true true I’d be the first to sign it but it’s not true that’s right you know but it it’s so hard because the people who are opposing it if they could just come and see the smiles of these kids afterwards just how happy they are they’re just they’re you’re setting the captives free you know if it’s just this hate monging message of shaming women and blaming like th those girls would be up in arms having a fit after the talk but they weren’t they were lining up you know long into the break to the point where we’re like we had to cut the line off to go back to the panel because they just wanted to stay and talk and share their relationship struggles their family Dynamics and you know how do I know if this guy that I mean they’re just so starving to death and uh it’s just heartbreaking when they don’t get fed the truth that’s right and you’re interrupting the narrative so the great narrative that a lot of people are seeing on social media how you’re supposed to be in a relationship if you’re turning this age this is how you’re supposed to be this is what you’re supposed to do and you’re interrupting the narrative with good and wholesome material and that is ultimately just from God yeah be grateful for the way we’ve been made man and woman he created them MH and people are threatened by that which is why I think we’re seeing the backlash we’ve seen on this current visit to Australia because you’ve visited us many times before and it has never happened ever no no not not in the scale um this is your seventh trip it is so yeah so six other trips this has never happened I was saying to Shel a bit earlier on during the day I think this is a little more prominent because of the current new Cycles in the Catholic World um Harrison buter from the Kansas City Chiefs he’s been crucified at the moment for that beautiful speech about his wife the love that he poured out of his heart he was in tears talking about how much he loves his wife and how thankful he is for the sacrifices she’s made and people are crucifying him because he said she’s a wife mother and Homemaker and I’m like she’s happy with it she’s happy with it they’re peace they’re living their vocation beautifully and I think you’ve been caught up in that news cycle yeah interesting yeah so much for pro-choice when you have a a wife choosing that it’s like oh my goodness it’s back to the stone ages it’s like no she’s choosing it and it’s happy why are you so threatened by her choice yeah yeah to be honest I I uh my blood boils when things like this happens uh uh I was saying to to Sarah um yesterday I think it was you know I don’t think there’s any one in the world um who preaches the messages that you preach with as much love as and and with as much visible and like evident love as you do and um you know I’ve recommended so many of your videos to so many people I’ve spoken to but the it’s it’s not just and I’m just really trying to stress this it’s not just the message alone because there are a few people who um have a similar sort message that that you’re uh that you’re preaching but I I’m really trying to stress now that the amount of love that that you can just tell you’re you’re saying it with is is something that’s so out of this world it really is and um and if people just took the time like we were like we were mentioning just to listen to five minutes of what you had to say then they wouldn’t be boycotting the way they would uh sorry the way they are at the moment so no it’s I mean asked the father give me a share of your love for them that’s my prayer and and I think to the extent that I received that gift from him the kids see it in me like this guy loves me and that’s why they come up afterwards and they just pour out everything to me of the addiction the molestation the cutting the abortion like they just just pour everything out to me because they know that they can trust me they know their probably never going to see me again just it feels like just a safe sounding board to just drop their heart into my hands and knowing that it’s gonna be received with love and I think that’s perhaps at the core of why the other side is so threatened by this because it’s not just true and good but there’s Beauty in what the church is teaching and beauty is beauty is irrefutable I mean you can argue with truth you can argue with goodness but Beauty there’s no counterargument to it and so if we can just propose the church’s teaching and love and in Beauty what you see is the Joy from the kids today of receiving that so that that way when we prepare for the Chastity talks like this morning we’re praying the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary and that’s what it’s about I mean the joy of the enunciation the joy of the visitation there’s joy in bringing Christ to others and the joy of receiving him in the Nativity the joy of finding him and presenting him in the temple it’s all about the joy of receiving Christ and you know I think there’s nothing that creates such an anaphylactic reaction in the enemy of just the beauty of God’s plan for human sexuality that lay that before these starving teenagers that are just so marinated and lust and porn to see wow that’s beautiful like I want that yes yes amen you have had the privilege of being very close with Jason in his visits to Australia you have a unique view because you see Jason up on the stage you have a very unique view from the the back seat so to speak you see the reactions of students when you’re walking around the different colleges you go to speak to us a little bit about how you see people react to Jason yeah absolutely um I’ve worked out I was trying to work it out this week uh you have read over the last six tours 30,000 students something like that not including World youth day so that that bumps it up to a quarter of a million but but separate to that yeah 30,000 um high schoolers have been reached maybe 40,000 um across the last 12 years that I’ve witnessed and 13 years and I I can’t remember one student um being upset I’m trying to think about it uh out of the teachers is probably a handful but but that’s across that’s across 13 years and um and I think the one issue it was uh it was more on the cohabitation aspect and that was because that teacher was cohabitating with um their partner and and so that was the only thing and that was yeah out of all this time it was overwhelming uh posit overwhelmingly positive yeah like where’s all the protesting news articles and upset parents after these chats that I haven’t seen one they’re not there no so the only way they can oppose It Is by saying what they think I’m going to say and then having a fit over that and it’s not only that like I I don’t I mean I I’m not one to uh to really um I guess describe or explain what you do you you do that a lot better but from what I’ve seen you don’t just challenge you know that the woke culture but you challenge the other side who or the other extreme who are so anti anti-woke that um a lot of it becomes sort of hatred or kind of just proved them wrong and again it comes back to the to the love that you speak with because you’re reminding people no there’s that balance where you need um you need to find the truth but that needs to be in love and in charity and it’s if I mean if they were interested in in sort of seeing that side where you’re there’s almost a defense of of the love of these people not almost there is a defense of the love of these people surely they’d they’d be more open to the message some of the things that um Jason was was I guess uh list listed that that they were upset about over the last week um you know we can probably list a handful of them but is I wanted to ask here’s a chance for us to sort of debunk some of these um the the first one and this was mentioned in multiple articles was how you as a male what right do you have to talk to female so girl or girl school what right do you as a man have to talk to females about sexuality yeah how do you respond that well if if a male can’t speak then Jesus has nothing to say about it the pope has nothing to say about it you know it’s really a sexist position of just saying no that men can only speak to men and women can only speak to women it’s like no no no I want to learn from women like teach me you know as a man what it means to authentically love and like what are your needs and like we need to learn from each other it’s all coming from this very Marxist dialectical view of human sexuality of just that our sexual differences are a threat and the only way to have real freedom and Liberation is to eliminate sexual distinction and to just scrub it out entirely then we’ll be free and so they’re they’re perceiving the masculine as a threat of like I’m going to come in there and I’m going to tell you how to dress and I’m going to shame you for men’s lack of self-control because man if a guy has a lust problem it’s that outfit that you’re wearing you’re the problem and so I think what if you want to motivate a man you want to make him feel needed for a task if you want to motivate a woman you need to make her feel understood and so when we broach the subject of modesty you know one of the things I sometimes say to the girls is that you know girls often have a very resentful attitude towards modesty in the message but instead of just debunking it I affirm that I said because for really good reasons like for one reason is when was the last time you ever heard a homy about male modesty never ever it’s always the woman the woman the woman and that’s because we made a mistake of reducing modesty to clothing and if modesty is nothing but an outfit then a lot of guys are like well I got pants on I’m modest today like but the immodesty of a man’s intentions could be far more immodest than any outfit she could have on and if we would just speak about that the woman would be less defensive about modesty because they’d realize this is a two-way street here but then also they resent modesty because it’s always the the historically for thousands of years the whole problem of lust isn’t blamed on the body of the woman you know you’re the seductress you’re the woman caught in adultery you’re the occasion of sin you’re the temptress you know and if I’m weak it’s because you made me that way and that isn’t modesty that’s blame shifting and I point out to the women that the cause of robbery isn’t the presence of Jewelry in the window of the store it’s the presence of greed in the heart of the robber so jewelry doesn’t cause robbery and in the same respect the human body is not the origin of lust that’s the human heart and so long as we’re blaming the female body for lust we’re missing the opportunity for where the challenge needs to be made into the hearts of men and if when if girls hear that it’s like okay this guy’s on our side this guy gets it he understands how annoying and sexist it is is to be blamed for a guy’s lack of self-control so then once we’ve had them understood then we call them on to like okay but this does not mean oh good I can just dress however the heck I want let’s build some more fraternal love where I feel responsible for your heart and you feel that way for my soul as well then we can have a pathway towards love and so I try to build a sense of understand I get where you’re coming from that makes total sense but let me reintroduce you to what modesty actually is as the guardian of love and why it orders our sexual desires according to and so we take that more compassionate approach we’ll realize okay this guy’s not coming to have this misogynistic attitude of blaming women for men’s lack of self-control this guy sees the big picture and then we can lead him to a deeper understanding yeah that was the second most referenced thing was your your issue of the issue of modesty and so you just addressed it there um and then another another one that was brought up uh just this last week over these different articles from different um your your views um about uh just Chastity the idea of Chas I think there’s a misinterpretation of what the word Chastity means it sounds like people think Chastity is celibacy or virginity can you just clarify what is Chastity what do you mean by Chastity yeah the word is greatly misunderstood that’s why a lot of people avoid it but that’s a mistake uh John Paul said in love and responsibility the word Chasity needs to be rehabilitated and so we need to take that task use the word and use it clearly so celibacy means the state St of not being married that’s what the word means abstinence means the absence of sex virginity is that a person hasn’t had intercourse none of these things are and say you know to the girls that look your value does not come from your virginity okay your sexuality has value because of you you’re the gift you still have yourself to give so even if you’ve lost your virginity you haven’t lost your value and if they don’t hear that and they think no virginity is the best thing you could ever give to to a man no it’s not you’re the best gift you could ever give to a man and you always have you and so I think a lot of people in wanting to promote Chastity have not used clear language and made almost an idol out of virginity but then when that Idol breaks it’s like I’m broken as well it’s like well no no no that’s the difference between just abstinence and Chastity one of the things I love about the way you present things especially in this regard is that a lot of these schools for whatever reason um and some of these articles are reacting thinking it’s the whole anti-woman misogynist but if you’ve ever heard Jason speak you raise up men to a greater expectation and you challenge them to be the men God made them to be so it’s not like a we’re we’re targeting women here no no you’re you’re building up Humanity your male and female God created them he’s given us beautiful complimentary gifts and we’re to use those gifts to love honor and glorify him and to do that with each other yeah and so it’s it’s a very Pro masculine pro- feminine message oh yeah that you’re presenting but as they say people will only ever want to he what they want to he yeah and I get some push back like why are you so tough on the guys you know so it’s not like I’m giving the guys a pass and then just blaming everything on the woman but I think where these the opponents of this message are coming from they’ve they have not heard Chastity what they’ve heard is just this hypocrisy within the Church of like yeah you guys are preaching Chastity but then you’re abusing kids and you’re breaking your vows and and they’ve got so much pent up resentment some of them are post-abortive and have a lot of bitterness towards that and all of this is boiling inside of them and then when they see someone that in their eyes represents all of it they just direct all of their angst and and Venom towards that one person as an outlet for all of the rage because God bless them they just haven’t ever heard the beauty of Chastity and the problem is the these these wounds that they’re living out of is preventing them from being able to listen to the message but what’s sad is they don’t stop there and not listening to it they don’t want other people to hear it as well yeah and we sadly are encountering more and more these days a cancel culture um around around these very important messages we mentioned it at 1010 a bit earlier on and we might get to a couple of these questions later but um the the reality is that on the hearts of our young people is a desire for truth and they’re not getting it and so they go searching and they go searching everywhere for it and if you’re a young person that has a device in their hands you’re seeing all sorts of echo chambers of ideas on social media and they’re not silly they know the algorithms so if you’ve watched that video we’re going to give you more of that video um I would love Jason ever V videos to just flood flood Tik Tok flood flood Instagram it would be amazing for them to hear these messages but it’s just not happening yeah and so it’s it’s a real sad State of Affairs when we see that okay there’s a denial of Truth we don’t want to hear it and we don’t want our children to hear it yeah and I don’t know if that just helps them sleep better at night I’m not sure but the this is so important the work you’re doing um and peruse here as well for encouraging all of this we all have a responsibility and it’s not a fight back but it’s just we need to push something that is beautiful and authentic yeah so important that’s right it is a two-way stet isn’t and if we’re going to be um open-minded if we’re going to hear both sides well we should allow for both ideas um especially in a Catholic School um especially in a Catholic audience um just like and we were talking earlier uh if a non-muslim and everyone knows my background uh if if if I was a non-muslim and I went to a Muslim school and then they taught the Quran and I was upset about that well then would that give me the right to to sort of say shame on them for teaching the Quran well no it’s a Muslim school you should expect them to teach the Quran yeah um and so likewise at a Catholic school we should be able to expect the Catholic School to teach the Catholic faith and to have a Catholic speaker present the faith in its beauty in a loving and charitable way and then you know I think there’s been a misunderstanding completely uh and we probably should give a bit of a background what’s we sort of jumped into what’s happened and not many people know what’s happened here and was like so so this is Jason’s um seventh tour and this to be honest on one hand it was the easiest one to organize because the buyin was so positive uh broken Bay dasis the first time to have Jason being doing great work they had they wanted every student to to listen to him Sydney Arch dasis uh booked today as we had and then we had evening events which were all sold out so thanks be to God with within a few weeks this was very easy to put together uh it was the last week um it was just a bit of push back and once these parents knew from particular um in in the broken Bay dasis some of the parents heard and we now discover it’s not particularly just parents but there’s a whole movement um and they’re public for saying it it’s a it’s a movement from witches now I thought it was a joke when when someone when you sent it to me and I was like okay are they just making this up and you start to read it and yeah when you read read it for yourself and maybe we can put the links in but let let people re read and see that post um there’s a formal group of um witches who um are wanting to cancel any thing Jason does this week and and they’ve put him in the same uh boat as as I guess any sort of terrorist if you like uh and and I think that’s just so um it’s it’s very judgmental because I’ve pre judged him based on maybe a few sound bites that they read or a little line theyve read out of context they’ve not met the man they’ve not read the context of his message they’ve just taken one little bite and then they’ they they’ve assumed that’s who this man is and and misinterpret him and and that’s where we are at the moment that’s why we’re sort of we’ve jumped in the show sort of saying what’s going on um and just to give the viewers an idea part of the problem is that they can write an article and say well he wasn’t wanted at this school or that school and there was a petition that went around and there was 800 signatures 500 of those signatures came from that group so it’s not a fair representation of what parents actually want now you know we got to see some of the good in things cuz there was a negative article written um but then you start reading all of the comments below and a majority of the comments were they’re in a Catholic School it’s Catholic teaching what’s the problem and there are a lot of people commenting that way or have you seen the way that the culture is directing our young people it’s good for them to hear a countercultural message so there were some very positive comments on what was a negative article and I just want to affirm you in that just to let you know that when we when when rubber meets the road yeah there are a lot more supporters out there than there are haters just so you know just so you know you’ve touched so many lives so it’s very important but we I don’t think we’re doing our young people any any service any justice if we’re stopping someone who is so love-filled has such a passion for what is going through the minds and hearts of young people if we’re stopping someone like you from getting into Catholic schools then we have to take a good hard look at ourselves and ask ourselves some questions as to what’s really going on here and I I would encourage people to share that message and if you’re disappointed that Jason isn’t coming to your school then get your parents to phone in and say what the heck is going on yeah it’s so important like you don’t get to just cancel a person for teaching authentic Catholicism and not only just teachings of the church but the truth and beauty that God had always intended for us so phone in phone your Schools phone the principles ask why it’s so important that people who are making decisions like this need to be held accountable be respectful don’t be rude but ask for answers why and if the if the response oh well some of the topics are going to be too triggering you have no idea if it’s going to be triggering or not you haven’t heard Jason speak before you haven’t been involved in what he’s so passionate about we spoke about it earlier in the show you see the reaction of these young people even the parents that you’re going to go and address these next couple of days you see their reactions they’ve never heard this stuff before it needs to be heard because it’s beautiful it pulls at the heartstrings it needs to be said my rant’s over yeah I I saw one guy online who was not you know on board with this message at all but he had said yeah he said this is exactly why I send my kids to Public Schools they don’t be exposed to this religious rubbish and so it’s like well well yeah and that’s why those parents who send their kids to Catholic School send them there so that they can hear the fullness of the truth and so you know like what Sharell was saying it’s it’s it’s nuts it’s almost like I pay to send my kid to synagogue and then I get angry at the rabbi like wait you taught the Torah like what are you doing like we got to start a protest you can’t teach that it’s like you’re paying me to send your kid to a Jewish school it’s like my goodness but you know some of the other comments were like alumni of the school saying yes this is totally uncalled for when I went to school there they never taught us all this Chastity stuff we learned social justice and this and that none of this like religious right-wing stuff so you see they perhaps had just decades and Decades of lukewarm Catholicism and then they’re saying well this this American brand of like this is not American Catholicism this is Roman Catholicism this is not coming from the US it’s coming from Rome and they they just haven’t tasted it before and and so they they associate with everything just just rigid and puritanical and hateful and homophobic it’s like no no just just let the kids hear it I mean if the if if it’s so bad then where was The Fallout from the last six visits that we did it wasn’t there because the kids were happy and so were the parents correct absolutely doesn’t it speak to the fact that we need to be proclaiming the gospel if we haven’t proclaimed the gospel in its fullness then the other side is going to win out on the narrative MH and so we’ve had this lukewarm Catholicism for so many decades now and the moment you give someone something that is beautiful and authentic well why didn’t I ever know that if I knew that I wouldn’t have lived my life this way or you know like it’s it’s something that we really need to stress we shouldn’t be afraid of proclaiming the truth of Jesus Christ in all of its rich richness and Beauty but also even the parts of it that challenge us because he’s not there to oppress us he’s not there to make us feel uncomfortable he’s there to help us live our best lives so that we can get to heaven now I don’t know about you but that’s something I want to sign up for it’s so important so we we need to as Catholics need to tell the world what the church teaches otherwise the world would tell the world what the church teaches so the wrong people who don’t have the context they don’t have the the actual grounding or the even the faith in the in the church are giving the narrative and that’s that’s where we are why we’re in this mess I do want to congratulate the the broken Bay um dasis I mean uh to have to have welcome Jason in the dasis to begin with um and they were very excited the leadership team so I want to I want to thank the leadership team in the dasis um and and now I think what we need to do is pray for these communities who just have completely misinterpreted the church’s teaching and so this is an opportunity now I hope moving forward that they will learn at least give this a chance learn what the church teaches and and and there’s a real there a bit of homework to do now because um a lot of these parents who may be upset over a chastity speaker speaking to their teenagers about how to have authentic love how to wait for Mr or Mrs Wright for the right time and and somehow that’s that’s a bad thing we pray that they understand what the message Jason’s trying to promote and it’s nothing that is his own opinion he’s actually presenting the truth and beauty of the church in a way that’s compelling it’s attractive and uh let’s hope this is a learning for for those smaller communities who have just not understood and I guess a jump in the gun here prejudging um based on a few sound bites and so I encourag them to meet Jason yeah come and and turn up and those parents were missing out you know and the students who were missing out yes right to the schools and let’s see let’s try um see if we can have an opportunity because otherwise their experienc up until now and let’s all admit as Catholics we’ve done a poor job in in teaching this message of of Love um we’ve done a poor job from our bad actions as a church from from our really mediocre homilies our our really uh uh lukewarm attitude to to the faith and let’s face it how many people are actually practicing the faith so we’re down to 10 10% and of the 10% how many actually even understand what they believe so so really we we’ve really got a lot of work to do and thanks to this podcast what we’re trying to do at perusia what Chasity Project’s doing we’re trying to present the truth so that the world that’s starving for it can actually learn something from it because we’ve all been impacted in a personal way and we just want to present that and and these other people will be impacted if they just give it a chance yeah there is just to go off of that Shel to be honest like there’s so much hurt that because of um all the uh the sexual Liberation and all these things that we we’ve been fed there’s so much hurt that’s come from it for me personally in my life that I wish I never had to go through and I wouldn’t have had to go through that likely had I heard you know Jason’s message um or or the message of so many um Chastity speakers uh at at a younger age and then it only took until you know I was going through that for me to go oh okay like this isn’t the life that I want to live I want to be healed from it but there is also that fear to be healed which I think a lot of the fightback that oh I can only imagine a lot of the fightback you’d get Jason is not just a misinterpretation or even um even a willing uh almost uh I don’t know a a willing misunderstanding just so that it could fit you know The Narrative of so many people a lot of it would be I’m actually I’ve been living this life of pain for so long that I’m scared to be healed from it um and I guess that could that could lead to a question for you is in your experience why are so many people afraid to be healed from a lot of the the hurt and the wounds that they’ve experienced in their life lives I I think they don’t trust God the Father I think that’s the core of it all um you know God if you’re all loving and you’re all powerful how could you have let these things happen to me in the first place and so I’ve lost my trust in you as a father and so why would I open up my wound to the Divine physician I just need to medicate myself and numb it and stuff it under pleasures and materialism and busyness and distractions and this and that and that because to sit still and look at it you know I’m afraid if I start cry I’m just never going to stop crying so I just kind of have to numb myself with a horde of false consolations and I think we all struggle with distrust with to the to the father in one way or another but yeah it’s it’s sad because you have individuals literally living out of these wounds without even realizing it I remember I was speaking up at the March for Life in Canada once and then after the speech we all did a March around the block near the Parliament and there was a woman standing at a street corner screaming from the depths of her soul at all the protest ERS just I mean the voice coming out of her wasn’t even fully human but you could tell this is you know probably a post-abortive woman who’s speaking this place of just profound hurt but it’s too much to direct that in and it has to be directed outside because I can’t process that inside that the hurt of what I went through so I need to say you’re the one who hurt me you’re the one who’s bringing up all my wounds and yeah so there’s a lot of hurt there so all the need for the more intercession and understanding and patience and and it’s hard because you can try to extend that but it’s no guarantee it’s going to be received I remember when I was speaking in England I did a presentation to all the teachers of the schools they probably got like 300 different Catholic High School teachers there and the bishop said you’re going to come and listen to this talk and and uh a priest was asking one of the teachers like well how do you think it’s going to be received you know today and uh the priest said it will be received as the gospel was received and that’s just the way it always was and the way it always will be there’s so much there’s so much I I I want to touch on a couple of questions um with your blessing of course and we’ve had a lot of um viewer feedback in anticipation for your visit in a good way and this is the stuff that are on the hearts of people that sadly some of our schools don’t want to touch with a 10-ft pole because I think ultimately they just don’t know how to answer those questions um but then also out of fear of maybe even offending and you know being misunderstood and that’s always going to be the case When You’re vulnerable um but I had I’ve had a number of questions over the years um especially now in this time we live in where I truly believe it’s a social contagion social media is destroying our young people yeah um never have we seen rates go through the roof on you know sexual identity and gender dysphoria and all sorts of things and we have to be compassionate been patient with those people but I get the question often and and I’d like your insights what if I feel I’ve been born in the wrong body MH just a simple question and no one wanted to ask it yeah no one wanted to vocalize it so we’ve got you here the cameras are on we’re not going to we’re not going to edit any of this out M we just want it from the heart yeah how would you respond to a person like that well I think that the response from a Catholic needs to be not to try to win some debate of like well no no XY chromosome and that’s all no no no no stop and tell me thank you for sharing that with me I mean I imagine that was probably kind of scary to tell me that because you’re probably afraid I will judge you and look differently at you and so thank you for having the trust in me to open up in that way like when did you start feeling this way you know and and what kind of triggers that dysphoria is it certain social settings is it clothing is it stereotypes that you feel like you’re burdened under that you have to conform to this or you’re not just one of the guys and tell me more about that and so the posture to do is is to listen to gender dysphoria with reverent curiosity because a lot of times we’re replacing this story with just a label trans it’s like well no no no there’s there’s layers of complexity behind this I remember talking to one girl and her sister was transitioning about to get a double myectomy and she asked her sister why are you going through with this with the top surgery and their father had abandoned them and they were little girls and she said you’ll see I’ll be a better man than Dad ever was and it’s like whoa there’s layers going on here and so if you just try to win at a bait and what they have found in these words like non-binary trans gender fluid this that they’ve discovered a language that resonates with their lived experience when they feel like a mystery to themselves and then they dive into these social media places and find a community of like-minded individuals who always felt like I wasn’t fitting in with the rest of the girls I’m not into that kind of thing well maybe it’s because I’m non-binary or this or that and if the response they get from Catholics is just debate and debunking and dismissing this non-binary gender fluid transwoman nonsense you’re either XX or XY and you look at social media and what are the videos of all the hits you know watch this guy humiliate this trans activist and it’s like yeah just smash him it’s like whoa okay if that’s what I have waiting for me in the church just a beat down like I I can stay away because it’s almost like the church is saying well you resolve your little dysphoria thing and then you’re welcome here in the church it’s like okay well then I’m never welcome in the church cuz this doesn’t seem to be going away I remember one mother came to me and she said yeah my she was a a very devout Filipino mom and her son was in the process of transitioning and she said well I told him don’t even come over to my house if you’re going to be showing up with your long hair and your nail polish and your mascara she said I won’t even look at you if you come to the house and I pushed her on that and I said ma’am don’t you remember and because I’ve been to the Philippines enough I know how they talk about Mother Mary they call her mama Mary I said don’t you remember when Mama Mary didn’t want to look at Jesus either and she said no I said don’t you remember like when they took down his unrecognizable body off of the Cross and they laid the corpse in her arms that her heart was pierced she didn’t want to look at her son but she didn’t take her maternal gaze of Love off of him even though it pierced her heart I said your son is Jesus and your heart is being pierced but your son needs your Look of Love Now more than he has ever needed it in his entire life and looking him with love is not affirming every choice that he’s making it’s affirming the fact that you’re never going to abandon him as as your mother and you’re going to walk with him through that he needs that accompaniment it isn’t just you either affirm or abandon no we can accompany we can walk with these PE and this mother just broke down in tears because she did love her son but she just couldn’t process this of like all of her dreams of having grandkids running around were going to be shattered because he’s going to go get his surgery and this and that and like and so she’s struggling with her own trauma of dealing this not knowing how to respond to him and so the answer is not to give a perfect argument that’s just going to convince them that they’re not trans no the answer is to listen with the ears of Christ the eyes of Christ and then in the right time the mouth of Christ with truth because to because a person to give a person love without giving them the truth is just misguided Mercy it’s just false compassion we have to give them the truth but it’s got to be couched in plenty of love and listening at the same time just to flow on from that if you’re if you’re employed as the pastoral care coordinator of a Catholic school it’s a co-ed school and you’ve got a number of young men and women that are going through this type of dysphoria um what would be your pastoral approach in the school would you be affirming them in changing uniforms having genderless bathrooms all that kind of thing or do you think is is that missing the Mark is it a is it a step in accompanying them or what what would you do if if you were given that label pastoral care coordinator Catholic school how are we dealing with these young men and women who are going through a couple of confusing moments you I I would say first we need to be responding in a way that’s not simply reactive but proactive meaning what type of curriculum are you we using in the first and second and third fourth fifth sixth grade are they learning Catholic anthropology of what it means to be human that your body is you or are we just teaching them water down Catholicism and then they show up in junior high and declare their non on binary and then we’re just in damage control mode so we got to make sure that we’re educating the parents we’re educating the kids it’s a holistic thing and then also implementing policies within the parent handbook that as a Catholic school this is our policy that we refer to children by their baptismal names that we refer to them by their biological sex and those pronouns and we do this and we do that these are our policies we will not force you to sign the handbook but if you would like your child to be educated in this way in our school you’re welcome into our community but you’ve got to agree that this is how we teach instead of like wait a minute you won’t use my kids’s preferred pronoun it’s like well hey you signed the handbook you know you’re signing on for this education so all of that is the proactive thing but then now the reactive okay we’ve got this kid he wants to dress this way I spoke with a woman just a few weeks ago who had gone on puberty blockers at 13 cross- sex hormones at 14 double myectomy at like 15 16 years old and then it wasn’t months after that that she just deeply regretted like what did I do to my body and now she’s you know campaigning changing legislation to protect kids from the same things and and I said to her if your child came to you and said that they’re trans and they want you to there’s the pronoun like how would you respond and she said the one thing you never want to do she said for your kid is to use the pronouns that are false he said you she said at that point if you are just going along with them you are actually entertaining a delusion at that point and those children look to you as an Arbiter of Truth and if you cave in and just call them whatever they want to be called you know yeah you might make them happy for a moment but they’re going to resent you for all eternity for the fact that you knew it was true but you wouldn’t do it so if if hearing the pronoun that aligns with their biological sex triggers a lot of psychological dysphoria I would say avoid it try to just avoid it stay away as much as you can don’t call them whatever they want to be called it don’t Ram it down their throat he he he he back off a little bit just give them some space right there I think that’s a charitable Christian response but if you love someone you can’t lie to them and so it’s how do we balance that I’m walking with this person I’m developing a relationship with them I remember one Pastor he said look if you find out somebody in your congregation identifies as trans what do you do he said I would say hey look I feel like I’m meeting you in chapter eight of your life but I haven’t had the opportunity to learn about chapters 1 through 7 but I’d really like to can we do coffee sometime that’s the response and so it’s not just policy it’s like let’s build actual relationships cuz it’s it’s it’s almost like treating a burn victim the level of sensitivity here is profound and if we don’t approach it with that kind of sensitivity you know you can alienate not only that person but their entire family from the Catholic faith for life but in the same respect you have a moral obligation to all the other students in the school to uphold Catholic teaching of what it means to be human and if you’re just caving into one student and letting the guy into the girl’s bathroom and doing all this it’s like well wait a minute what about the rights of all those other children who deserve to be taught a Catholic Education so it does require a lot lot of sensitivity and Prudence but how do we balance that charity and Clarity without sacrificing one for the sake of the other I can I um just ask on that one of the another one of the accusations uh against you was um you’re going to be insensitive to um abuse victims and I remember hearing you during the week um you you really hit out of the ballpark if you can just for us here now um your respon you mentioned I might start it off and you can finish it off but just the you you’ve spoken to 2 million high schoolers over the last 26 years and you have a hidden sensitivity to what they’ve gone through because they P their hearts out the amount of suffering that that that they’re going through and you and you even it’s it’s on record and and you promote it the the testimony of your own wife and what she’s been through could you just elaborate on on the question you know how are you able to deal with these sensitive issues yeah as a man and um on the on this topic yeah I mean what CH what teens and young adults have confided in me has just broken my heart 10,000 times of I remember being on a Native American Indian reservation in the states and a a girl shared with me that she’s been uh sexually assaulted raped by 13 different guys not times guys multiple times by 13 guys and she hasn’t even gotten to college yet I mean I I’ve talked to kids that I mean from their own family members from their siblings from I mean you name it from coaches from this from priest like I’ve heard so much and so I know why they’re doing bad math class the the the weight of suffering that these kids are going through and I share with the young people because my wife is very open about her testimony that she was sexually abused by somebody in her own family and and and she shares with how you can actually face that and heal it instead of absorbing the shame that doesn’t belong to you in the first place so anyone who would accuse me of not being sensitive to victims is clearly someone who hasn’t watched a half of a second anything that I’ve ever said because I mean the the layers of suffering that I me I mean I met a kid recently and he was a high school boy and he came right up to me after the talk and confessed to me that he’s a prostitute at the age of 15 at a local mall and he got wrapped up into a sex trafficking ring and he said I don’t even do it for the money anymore I just do it for the affection and it’s like holy cow his parents are gone his dad passed away his mom abandoned him he lived with his grandma and now he’s being pimped at a local mall is a 15-year-old boy you know and in these situations it isn’t like well try to do better next time it’s like no now we’ve got to get the police involved because I’m a mandatory reporter I had to let the youth Minister know the priest know we had to get the police involved and to rescue the kid and hopefully all the other kids in this child’s sex trafficking ring but it’s like once you once the kids pour their hearts out to you you just never look at an audience the same way after everything that these kids have been through and it just gives you this really heightened sensitivity of like we’re treading into sacred around here of of the wounds of Christ in these kids’ lives in different ways and and so yeah no anyone who says that I’m unsensitive to abuse victims is just clearly out of touch with the ministry entirely over two million students and you’ve had that encounter with one of those 2 million and the way that you invested in helping that person recover and heal yeah and report and do the right thing that’s love yeah because love often times takes a lot of effort and sacrifice as we all know and I can only imagine you multiplying those examples and that’s the man right here that people want to crucify in the media right now yeah and and want to stop from going into schools and the that’s the man the key isn’t just to love the abuse victim but the abuser that’s the the the extraordinary love that’s needed I I remember meeting a uh a boy once and he said he’s been addicted to really bad porn he said it’s getting really bad because I’m really getting into the violent stuff and he said I’m starting to get dissatisfied with that and I want to do it like I want to act out the violent pornography that I’m seeing and so I said we need to be in touch and I and I got in touch with him his family and we got him counseling and and helped you know fund for the counseling for this kid to to meet with like a sex addiction therapist because if that 15-year-old doesn’t break that addtion ition you’re going to have a monster in 5 years and the Carnage that that one kid could create in the lives of others if he’s not healed is just unbelievable and so we we’ve got to be able to not only minister to the victims but to to the people who are in the cusp of doing these things or the ones who already have of like okay because the kids will you know confide this stuff in me and being a mandatory reporter there’s a lot of cases where you hate to have to do it but it’s like man this kid’s told no one this ever before and now I’m the first person they’ve told and now I have to go tell the police and this it’s going to break that kid’s heart but it’s like what’s the alternative just keep it a secret and then someone later’s like why don’t you tell anybody well I told the chassity speaker you know it puts you in some difficult situations but yeah we’ve got to make sure that the the victims aren’t only getting the healing that they need but the abusers are getting the justice and the healing that they need that’s another big topic uh pornography because again there’s a divide and I was I was surprised to see the parents one of the accusations was that you talk about the problems of porn and that’s a bad thing and so could you can we um so can we just okay what’s what’s wrong with pornography I mean you’re hurting no one this is the understanding so who are you hurting in pornography what’s wrong with it what what what have you got against pornography who are you not hurting in pornography I mean that’s that’s the question I mean where do you even want to begin there I mean you think of just think of a husband and a father you know sitting off in his you know office away from his wife while she’s asleep and the kids are in bed looking at his stuff on his computer hey it’s a victimless crime oh really well maybe your wife needs your arm around her right now cuz she had a hard day instead of you isolated in your computer having some erotic moment with your laptop She’s suffering from that your children are suffering because you’re not the man you’re supposed to be an image of the heavenly father to your kids it’s it’s the presence of that absence of the man you’re supposed to be they’re suffering the woman on the other side of the screen isn’t just a collection of pixels that’s a human being you know who may be sex trafficked right now or or maybe she’s out of the industry maybe she’s dead and you’re still lusting after pictures of her on the internet I mean this is not a victimless crime I mean I remember speaking because i’ I’ve met some of the women in the industry and I remember reading of one where she had to quit porn she said after the fourth abortion it just became too much because they didn’t want them using protection in these scenes or whatever and so she said the first one was devastating the second the third the fourth abortion but imagine if you were to see a pornographic film and realize in that act that I’m witnessing a child is being conceived that in a couple of weeks will be aborted and then that woman will go through depression and she’ll be struggling with alcoholism and all of these things if you could see that how much gratification could you get out of watching that scene of the Carnage that would flow from that that’s why if the full woman in pornography was shown the industry would go bankrupt it can’t show the full woman it can’t show her childhood remember Pamela Anderson is a porn star in America she was on the Howard Stern podcast and he’s like yeah you know you got people saying that porn stars are all been sexually abused as little kids and then they grow up to be you know these porn stars that’s not true you weren’t molested were you yeah nice question to ask a woman on a live show and for and she’s like oh no no I’m doing this because I you know celebrate my sexuality and I’m a sensual person and I enjoy it and it’s liberating and then her biography came out years ago and she said yeah I was molested by a babysitter when I was a little kid and then it was my boyfriend who date raped me and then I was gang raped by multiple other guys and then I had lost all sense of boundaries and value for my body and then I came into the porn industry she’s not going to say that on the Howard Stern Show but it’s it’s it’s right there in the biography and so if you saw the full woman you know the porn industry can’t do that it has to reduce it to a collection of body parts to stay in business and even those body parts I mean so much of it being trafficked you know the sex trafficking industry the corruption there the little kid I mean it’s just heartbreaking and so this it’s like the bigger the LIE is the more people are going to believe it it’s like nobody’s harmed oh really you know how about the the the porn addict who could spend eternally eternity isolated from God because he never broke this habit that’s kind of harmed so you’ve got the viewer the spouse the children the people in the industry the woman behind the camera like everybody is harmed and so this idea that nobody’s harming nothing could be further from the truth the um it’s actually interesting that what the church has been teaching about the Dignity of the human person and the damages of pornography only now are the psychological field bus coming out with studies saying that porn is damaging to people’s minds and there are people that are non-religious that are saying porn is bad for you MH there you go and so we talk about all these people that want to have a go at the church and say the church is outdated no I think the church is wise in understanding the human person in its entirety in its wholeness to make statements like this and say you’re damaging yourself if you do this and it’s now the secularists that are actually starting to agree with us yes very interesting AB very interesting so it’s like cigarette smoking at first it was cool then the studies came out does what to your lungs oh that’s gross I think we’re going to see the same cycle with porn well in in addition to that I want to speak to something that I think is a flowing effect from pornography we’ve got this rise now in the only fans model the Instagram model and it’s not explicitly pornography if you want to call it that um but this in in male and female areas people showing off their bodies people exposing themselves in a particular way for payment for membership and you know you you only have to read the countless number of Articles now I’m 21 years old and I’ve got three properties because I make 200,000k on um on only fans like this is a big area that we have to start looking into as well because it’s like the extension to pornography now um do you know anything about that Rec like we’re really moving in a direction now a guy doesn’t have to access a pornographic site anymore he can get lost in a Herm of women on Instagram yeah yeah and they want to show those numbers oh it’s like hundreds of thousands of dollars I think the average woman on only fans makes like less than $150 a month off of it but they want to make it look like oh no Fame will be yours just you know throw your soul into this and then you’re going to be rich and you know you’re not going to have to work a day in your life and that’s not really happening so it’s almost like I don’t know the numbers are but it’s something like 95% of the money coming in is going to like 5% of the women on the site and 95% of the women are Distributing that that leftover 5% between all of them and they’re just not gaining anything but losing their dignity in the process and you know some of them will do the modeling but they won’t show their face you know because they want to have that anonymity and so I think they need to be challenged or not not only are you getting used by guys guys are using you and you’re using them like you’re made for better than this you have a love to give and you’re squandering it I mean what should be the price to see your body like a monthly membership no like it should be one of the this like a wedding ring should be the price just to see your body that should be the admission charge just to see the beauty of what God has given to you and to sell it for 10 bucks a month like you’re getting ripped off I mean I don’t care if a woman’s getting $200,000 a week on Instagram or on only fans she’s getting ripped off she could get a billion dollars a day and she’s getting ripped off because you can’t put a price tag on your amen nice um can I sort of take you to the other side of um uh I guess of the spectrum where uh a lot of the uh I guess the Andrew Tate types now um are obsessed with um you know body counts and um women women can’t cheat on men but men can yeah you know men can cheat on women it’s their natural desire to to sleep around and whatever um I mean that sort of idea is really becoming popular among young men yeah um for obvious reasons I mean women I don’t think many women would be uh happy to hear that they can’t sleep with a million men but a million you know men can go around and do whatever they please uh what what would be your message for young men who are listening to that those types of people yeah no I remember the first time I ever heard the phrase body count it was just it was years ago before it really came into the popular usage and and it was I was just talking to a high school kid after assembly and the girl was saying yeah this guy has a really high body count I’m like he has a what and uh and what I thought of me it sounds like he’s killed a bunch of people like that’s what it sounds like body count it’s just like how many people have you killed and we’ve now taken that phrase to mean the marital act yeah and it’s just like what should bring life we it’s almost like a death terminology but I I think in in terms of folks like Andrew Tate and people of that like I think so many young men have gravitated towards him because of this culture of just shaming and blaming men for everyone you’ve got a guy who’s just basically taking no accountability whatsoever just blaming all the women it’s like hey that sounds good let’s hop over this cake camp but what it is in one word according to aquinus is a feminism and so these Super Macho guys with their jewelry and their sixpacks and their Ferraris and their mansions and their supermodels are deeply AFF feminite people and it’s because of what ainus defined as a femin it’s not femininity which is a Perfection it’s a good thing it’s not same-sex attraction that’s a totally different thing effeminacy according to aquinus is when a man refuses to let go of what is pleasure pleasurable in order to do it is arduous and good it’s so so it’s a disordered attachment toward pleasure makes a man effeminate and so exteriorly he could look super machismo but what you’re dealing with is a deeply effeminate man and you know they say well I’m in this polyamorous relationship you know where I have lots of love it’s like the problem with polyamorous relationships are not that you love too many women but you don’t love any of them like you have a devotion but it’s all to yourself you’ve deified yourself I’m God you know I am the one who I pay Devotion to and these women are just the homage the sacrifice that I offer to my own ego and it’s like that’s not masculine that’s the inversion that is toxic masculinity and and it’s not a good phrase tox toxic masculinity because if it were masculine it wouldn’t be toxic we’re dealing with a toxic lack of masculinity very true sorry so sorry sorry I was just going to just going to ask on the back of that how do you reconcile that with um the the usual scripture passage that people will throw out to to Christians in um wives submit to your husbands how do you reconcile what what you’ve just said about authentic masculinity with with that yeah well read the next verse you know like yeah what would you rather I mean like strip naked crucified beaten spat aot and in in husbands love your wife as Christ loved the church and so I I’ve heard the word submission broken up in its Latin of submissio meaning under the mission and so if she’s under the mission of the husband what is the mission of the husband to be willing to be crucified for his bride and if you got a man on board with his mission I don’t think a woman would have that much of a problem being like okay I’m on board with a man loving me like that but when you’ve got a man who’s not conquering himself for the sake of a woman but he’s Conquering the woman for the sake of himself no wonder why she says I’m not into this whole submission thing because I’m just going to be a doormat at the end of the day and so that’s where the revoltion is coming from it’s it’s a protective mechanism from being taken advantage of and so that’s why we have to read Ephesians 5 in context it’s like yeah yeah women do this men do that and if you get that then you get what Christian marriage is supposed to be and and that’s why that is so much under attack remember we were talking to someone earlier today and and he was talking about a priest who was at a hospital in England uh doing like chaplain duties and he was always there at lunchtime and he noticed that there was two female nurses there that would always sit there but they would never eat anything and then one day he kind of joined him and said oh you know hey I see you here all the time and I noticed you guys aren’t aren’t ever eating any lunch like are you guys fasting are you religious and they said yes we we are religious and we are fasting but we’re not Christian uh we are witches and we are fasting for the destruction of Christian marriages that’s what their fast is being offered for my gosh this is real stuff and we’re blind to it and like you know and I’m like I don’t want to fast it makes me hungry you know like I get so wimpy when it comes to you know mortification of the flesh but they’re not and I remember when I was down in Tasmania some of the religious sisters I was talking to they’re like yeah the the paganism is so out in the open they said we can see it right out our window of our kitchen into our neighbor house you can see through their big living room window they’re doing seances and Witchcraft and they’re basically doing their Liturgy of the Hours on a daily basis but they said it you know compels us to keep up our interior life because you can’t have a vacuum if you pull the Holy Spirit out you push him out another spirit’s going to come and take his place and so as Christians we’ve got to be wide-eyed open and sober about the fact that the Christian family and marriage is under attack because it’s the weapon it’s like the Tom Cruz Maverick movie you know I saw like last summer with my kids the the the whole theme of the movie is to take out the the enemy’s weapon and okay well what’s the weapon that God has holy families and so all of the enemy’s missiles are headed right towards that and so if I was doing talks this week on global warming in the Catholic high schools I don’t think the witches would be having a fit over this but the fact that we’re talking about marriage Chastity vocations Purity it it it draws all of their eye because this is the weapon that God has one of the marriages that is in the public Limelight at the moment is um the Kansas City Chief’s punter Harrison buter um he gave a beautiful commencement speech at a benedi and college about a week or two ago and the guy I encourage people to actually seek that speech out and watch it because the guy P his heart out how much he loves his wife and the reason they’re attacking him is because he thanked his wife for being faithful to him for loving him for sacrificing for him for loving their children and for being a homemaker for actually being someone who takes pride in her family at home now this get this resulted in news headlines around the world and this is what it is it’s that attack yeah they don’t want good and holy families and they’re calling for his contract to be ripped up the the NFL have distanced themselves from from him based on what he said and he didn’t say anything wrong but I think what we’re seeing um with these witches and with these um it’s the it’s the whole anti- good like we we want to be God we want to be God we don’t want anyone to tell us what to do I think they referenced that too they referenced that in in one of the posts as well like some of the news articles were tying me into Harrison bucker like this is not what we need in our schools that women should be barefoot pregnant in the kitchen so you you guys are in that you’re in that ccle of news at the moment so they they latch on to each other it’s very evident that they do that but what we’re seeing is an an extreme form of feminism that I think has been going going going going MH and the messages that Harrison yourself other good strong women in the world are delivering are a threat to that message MH and they’re like okay so in we have to do everything we can to destroy this message because it’s going to stunt our growth it’s going to stunt our progress yeah it’s really I’m I’m I’m very I’m very pleased that we’re able to have this conversation today to talk about these things because we don’t believe in cancel culture we believe in good civil conversation and one of the messages that we were giving to the students at the end of the day today and I have no doubt will be given on and on and on is you might have only heard this message for the first time now and when you do hear it it is going to tug at the heartstrings there might even be a tension within you because you’ve only ever heard the opposite what advice would you give to people who are struggling with that message as they encounter you for the first time yeah the struggle’s good you know and if it’s almost like if you if you bite into an apple and you get the seed you know you might want to spit it out but you know it’s like take from my chassity talk what’s good you know that like yeah I can relate to this that that one that little part I’m wrestling with that don’t throw it away because you might feel find that that seed of the Apple ends up being the most valuable part of the whole thing because you could plant an orchard with that so don’t just throw it away there could be value in the thing that’s the hardest to take in so just set it aside absorb what’s good and then chew on that a little while like why was there so much good stuff but then that thing I’m really wrestling with you know it’s okay to wrestle with that stuff take it to God talk to people who you respect and admire like why is it you know the church is against this or the church is for that I don’t get it wrestle with these things I remember seeing a sign at a college campus once that said you know if uh you’re a student here and you hear someone present a message on this campus that triggers you and you feel unsafe and offended immediately call up your parents and have them pick you up because you’re not ready for college it was just this message of just like get ready to be exposed to new challenging ideas that’s the whole point of the University setting and if you can’t handle that and the fact that somebody has a different View view point than you do do and that just triggers the heck out of you it’s time to grow up we we don’t need to protect young adults from strong messages like hey let’s let have enough it shows how little confidence we have in their brains that we have to protect them of like heaven forbid the women hear a message about modesty let them be critical thinkers is this guy full of hot air or is he making some good points let’s engage these difficult conversations and have civil discourse and if we’re incapable of that it it shows that we’re afraid amen I do want to add um the whole idea of um this toxic masculinity well there’s a toxic femininity too this idea of um we have to be the same as in literally the same um and and I think that’s that’s a real lie the idea is male and female we are it’s not that one is better than the other we’re equal in dignity equal in dignity but not the same so we have different roles and they complement each other and we’re actually battle Partners literally the word in Hebrew is a battle partner Adam and Eve were battle partners and so we are equal in dignity but not the same and so I think we have to really turn the narrative around and say stop lying to ourselves we don’t want women to become men and men to become women we want you to embrace who you are and that’s what we’re very confused at the moment we don’t know what that is and so that’s why we we we’re sort of living this confusion confusing state but it’s it’s it’s the question is do I want to be the opposite sex or do I want to embrace who I am and which is better worse it’s that’s the wrong question and I think that’s where we we’re falling into the Trap um men can do this and then women can do that well no that’s the wrong question it’s it’s we got to compliment each other Embrace who you are in your image and likeness of God well again shell and Jason thank you for being on the show thank you for allowing us to be part of your podcast Co this is great so I think it’s been a 0.73 paragraphs full of content clarifying
0.73 all these things and then when the
0.73 article was published you know it had
0.73 all the accus ations and then it said

0.73 period no comment but they didn&;t put
0.73 any of the comments in there because
0.73 they know if they had even included a
0.73 single sentence of what I had written it
0.73 totally would have disrupted The
0.73 Narrative that this is some misogynistic
0.73 homophobic transphobic bigot who hates
0.73 all these young people and is going to
0.73 cause danger to them because I I I think

0.73 worked out I was trying to work it out
0.73 this week uh you have read over the last
0.73 six tours 30,000 students something like
0.73 that not including World youth day so
0.73 that that bumps it up to a quarter of a
0.73 million but but separate to
0.73 that yeah 30,000 um high schoolers have
0.73 been reached maybe 40,000 um across the
0.73 last 12 years that I&;ve witnessed and 13
0.73 years and I I can&;t
0.73 remember one student um being upset I&;m
0.73 trying to think about it uh out of the
0.73 teachers is probably a handful but but
0.73 that&;s across that&;s across 13 years and
0.73 um and I think the one issue it was uh
0.73 it was more on the cohabitation aspect
0.73 and that was because that teacher was
0.73 cohabitating with um their partner and
0.73 and so that was the only thing and that
0.73 was yeah out of all this time it was
0.73 overwhelming uh posit overwhelmingly
0.73 positive yeah like where&;s all the
0.73 protesting news articles and upset
0.73 parents after these chats that I haven&;t
0.73 seen one they&;re not there no so the
0.73 only way they can oppose It Is by saying
0.73 what they think I&;m going to say and
0.73 then having a fit over that and it&;s not
0.73 only that like I I don&;t I mean I I&;m
0.73 not one to uh to really um I guess
0.73 describe or explain what you do you you
0.73 do that a lot better but from what I&;ve
0.73 seen you don&;t just challenge you know
0.73 that the woke culture but you challenge
0.73 the other side who or the other extreme
0.73 who are so anti anti-woke that um a lot
0.73 of it becomes sort of hatred or kind of
0.73 just proved them wrong
0.73 and again it comes back to the to the
0.73 love that you speak with because you&;re
0.73 reminding people no there&;s that balance
0.73 where you need um you need to find the
0.73 truth but that needs to be in love and
0.73 in charity and it&;s if I mean if they
0.73 were interested in in sort of seeing
0.73 that side where you&;re there&;s almost a
0.73 defense of of the love of these people
0.73 not almost there is a defense of the
0.73 love of these people surely they&;d
0.73 they&;d be more open to the
0.73 message some of the things that um Jason
0.73 was was I guess uh list listed that that
0.73 they were upset about over the last week
0.73 um you know we can probably list a
0.73 handful of them but is I wanted to ask
0.73 here&;s a chance for us to sort of debunk
0.73 some of these um the the first one and
0.73 this was mentioned in multiple articles
0.73 was how you as a male what right do you
0.73 have to talk to female so girl or girl
0.73 school what right do you as a man have
0.73 to talk to females about sexuality yeah
0.73 how do you respond that well if if a
0.73 male can&;t speak then Jesus has nothing
0.73 to say about it the pope has nothing to
0.73 say about it you know it&;s really a
0.73 sexist position of just saying no that
0.73 men can only speak to men and women can
0.73 only speak to women it&;s like no no no I
0.73 want to learn from women like teach me
0.73 you know as a man what it means to
0.73 authentically love and like what are
0.73 your needs and like we need to learn
0.73 from each other it&;s all coming from
0.73 this very Marxist dialectical view of
0.73 human sexuality of just that our sexual
0.73 differences are a threat and the only
0.73 way to have real freedom and Liberation
0.73 is to eliminate sexual distinction and
0.73 to just scrub it out entirely then we&;ll
0.73 be free and so they&;re they&;re
0.73 perceiving the masculine as a threat of
0.73 like I&;m going to come in there and I&;m
0.73 going to tell you how to dress and I&;m
0.73 going to shame you for men&;s lack of
0.73 self-control because man if a guy has a
0.73 lust problem it&;s that outfit that
0.73 you&;re wearing you&;re the problem and so
0.73 I think what if you want to motivate a
0.73 man you want to make him feel needed for
0.73 a task if you want to motivate a woman
0.73 you need to make her feel understood and
0.73 so when we broach the subject of modesty
0.73 you know one of the things I sometimes
0.73 say to the girls is that you know girls
0.73 often have a very resentful attitude
0.73 towards modesty in the message but
0.73 instead of just debunking it I affirm
0.73 that I said because for really good
0.73 reasons like for one reason is when was
0.73 the last time you ever heard a homy
0.73 about male modesty never ever it&;s
0.73 always the woman the woman the woman and
0.73 that&;s because we made a mistake of
0.73 reducing modesty to clothing and if
0.73 modesty is nothing but an outfit then a
0.73 lot of guys are like well I got pants on
0.73 I&;m modest today like but the immodesty
0.73 of a man&;s intentions could be far more
0.73 immodest than any outfit she could have
0.73 on and if we would just speak about that
0.73 the woman would be less defensive about
0.73 modesty because they&;d realize this is a
0.73 two-way street here but then also they
0.73 resent modesty because it&;s always the
0.73 the historically for thousands of years
0.73 the whole problem of lust isn&;t blamed
0.73 on the body of the woman you know you&;re
0.73 the seductress you&;re the woman caught
0.73 in adultery you&;re the occasion of sin
0.73 you&;re the temptress you know and if I&;m
0.73 weak it&;s because you made me that way
0.73 and that isn&;t modesty that&;s blame
0.73 shifting and I point out to the women
0.73 that the cause of robbery isn&;t the
0.73 presence of Jewelry in the window of the
0.73 store it&;s the presence of greed in the
0.73 heart of the robber so jewelry doesn&;t
0.73 cause robbery and in the same respect
0.73 the human body is not the origin of lust
0.73 that&;s the human heart and so long as
0.73 we&;re blaming the female body for lust
0.73 we&;re missing the opportunity for where
0.73 the challenge needs to be made into the
0.73 hearts of men and if when if girls hear
0.73 that it&;s like okay this guy&;s on our
0.73 side this guy gets it he understands how
0.73 annoying and sexist it is is to be
0.73 blamed for a guy&;s lack of self-control
0.73 so then once we&;ve had them understood
0.73 then we call them on to like okay but
0.73 this does not mean oh good I can just
0.73 dress however the heck I want let&;s
0.73 build some more fraternal love where I
0.73 feel responsible for your heart and you
0.73 feel that way for my soul as well then
0.73 we can have a pathway towards love and
0.73 so I try to build a sense of understand
0.73 I get where you&;re coming from that
0.73 makes total sense but let me reintroduce
0.73 you to what modesty actually is as the
0.73 guardian of love and why it orders our
0.73 sexual desires according to and so we
0.73 take that more compassionate approach
0.73 we&;ll realize okay this guy&;s not coming
0.73 to have this misogynistic attitude of
0.73 blaming women for men&;s lack of
0.73 self-control this guy sees the big
0.73 picture and then we can lead him to a
0.73 deeper understanding yeah that was the
0.73 second most referenced thing was your
0.73 your issue of the issue of modesty and
0.73 so you just addressed it there um and
0.73 then another another one that was
0.73 brought up uh just this last week over
0.73 these different articles from different
0.73 um your your views um about uh just
0.73 Chastity the idea of Chas I think
0.73 there&;s a misinterpretation of what the
0.73 word Chastity means it sounds like
0.73 people think Chastity is celibacy or
0.73 virginity can you just clarify what is
0.73 Chastity what do you mean by Chastity
0.73 yeah the word is greatly misunderstood
0.73 that&;s why a lot of people avoid it but
0.73 that&;s a mistake uh John Paul said in
0.73 love and responsibility the word Chasity
0.73 needs to be rehabilitated and so we need
0.73 to take that task use the word and use
0.73 it clearly so celibacy means the state
0.73 St of not being married that&;s what the
0.73 word means abstinence means the absence
0.73 of sex virginity is that a person hasn&;t
0.73 had intercourse none of these things are
0.73 the same thing as Chastity so what
0.73 Chastity is is a virtue just like
0.73 courage or honesty that applies to our
0.73 sexuality and the function of Chastity
0.73 is to free us to love and to free us to
0.73 know if we&;re authentically being loved
0.73 and therefore it&;s something we all need
0.73 to practice a priest married single
0.73 religious and according to our
0.73 particular state in life and so for a
0.73 single person or religious it would
0.73 involve abstinence but also for married
0.73 people there it will also involve
0.73 abstinence at times instead of having
0.73 this idea Chastity until marriage it&;s
0.73 like no no no this virtue has to be
0.73 practiced inside of marriage with the
0.73 proper use of God&;s plan for human
0.73 sexuality what does that mean for us as
0.73 a married couple well not only that we
0.73 stay faithful and not look at
0.73 pornography but how do we plan our
0.73 family you know reverence in the bedroom
0.73 for this gift of sexuality like what
0.73 does that look like and and so yeah the
0.73 world doesn&;t get that cont it just sees
0.73 it as this like just prudish you know
0.73 frigid neurotic attitude towards human
0.73 sexuality that they&;re going to impose
0.73 on these girls as part of this Purity
0.73 culture to make them repressive and
0.73 we&;ve got to break through that and say
0.73 you know to the girls that look your
0.73 value does not come from your virginity
0.73 okay your sexuality has value because of
0.73 you you&;re the gift you still have
0.73 yourself to give so even if you&;ve lost
0.73 your virginity you haven&;t lost your
0.73 value and if they don&;t hear that and
0.73 they think no virginity is the best
0.73 thing you could ever give to to a man no
0.73 it&;s not you&;re the best gift you could
0.73 ever give to a man and you always have
0.73 you and so I think a lot of people in
0.73 wanting to promote Chastity have not
0.73 used clear language and made almost an
0.73 idol out of virginity but then when that
0.73 Idol breaks it&;s like I&;m broken as well
0.73 it&;s like well no no no that&;s the
0.73 difference between just abstinence and
0.73 Chastity one of the things I love about
0.73 the way you present things especially in
0.73 this regard is that a lot of these
0.73 schools for whatever reason um and some
0.73 of these articles are reacting thinking
0.73 it&;s the whole anti-woman
0.73 misogynist but if you&;ve ever heard
0.73 Jason speak you raise up men to a
0.73 greater expectation and you challenge
0.73 them to be the men God made them to be
0.73 so it&;s not like a we&;re we&;re targeting
0.73 women here no no you&;re you&;re building
0.73 up Humanity your male and female God
0.73 created them he&;s given us beautiful
0.73 complimentary gifts and we&;re to use
0.73 those gifts to love honor and glorify
0.73 him and to do that with each other yeah
0.73 and so it&;s it&;s a very Pro masculine
0.73 pro- feminine message oh yeah that
0.73 you&;re presenting but as they say people
0.73 will only ever want to he what they want
0.73 to he yeah and I get some push back like
0.73 why are you so tough on the guys you
0.73 know so it&;s not like I&;m giving the
0.73 guys a pass and then just blaming
0.73 everything on the woman but I think
0.73 where these the opponents of this
0.73 message are coming from they&;ve they
0.73 have not heard Chastity what they&;ve
0.73 heard is just this hypocrisy within the
0.73 Church of like yeah you guys are
0.73 preaching Chastity but then you&;re
0.73 abusing kids and you&;re breaking your
0.73 vows and and they&;ve got so much pent up
0.73 resentment some of them are
0.73 post-abortive and have a lot of
0.73 bitterness towards that and all of this
0.73 is boiling inside of them and then when
0.73 they see someone that in their eyes
0.73 represents all of it they just direct
0.73 all of their angst and and Venom towards
0.73 that one person as an outlet for all of
0.73 the rage because God bless them they
0.73 just haven&;t ever heard the beauty of
0.73 Chastity and the problem is the these
0.73 these wounds that they&;re living out of
0.73 is preventing them from being able to
0.73 listen to the message but what&;s sad is
0.73 they don&;t stop there and not listening
0.73 to it they don&;t want other people to
0.73 hear it as well yeah and we sadly are
0.73 encountering more and more these days a
0.73 cancel culture um around around these
0.73 very important messages we mentioned it
0.73 at 1010 a bit earlier on and we might
0.73 get to a couple of these questions later
0.73 but um the the reality is that on the
0.73 hearts of our young people is a desire
0.73 for truth and they&;re not getting it and
0.73 so they go searching and they go
0.73 searching everywhere for it and if
0.73 you&;re a young person that has a device
0.73 in their hands you&;re seeing all sorts
0.73 of echo chambers of ideas on social
0.73 media and they&;re not silly they know
0.73 the algorithms so if you&;ve watched that
0.73 video we&;re going to give you more of
0.73 that video um I would love Jason ever V
0.73 videos to just flood flood Tik Tok flood
0.73 flood Instagram it would be amazing for
0.73 them to hear these messages but it&;s
0.73 just not happening yeah and so it&;s it&;s
0.73 a real sad State of Affairs when we see
0.73 that okay there&;s a denial of Truth we
0.73 don&;t want to hear it and we don&;t want
0.73 our children to hear it yeah and I don&;t
0.73 know if that just helps them sleep
0.73 better at night I&;m not sure but the
0.73 this is so important the work you&;re
0.73 doing um and peruse here as well for
0.73 encouraging all of this we all have a
0.73 responsibility and it&;s not a fight back
0.73 but it&;s just we need to push something
0.73 that is beautiful and authentic yeah so
0.73 important that&;s right it is a two-way
0.73 stet isn&;t and if we&;re going to be um
0.73 open-minded if we&;re going to hear both
0.73 sides well we should allow for both
0.73 ideas um especially in a Catholic School
0.73 um especially in a Catholic audience um
0.73 just like and we were talking earlier uh
0.73 if a non-muslim and everyone knows my
0.73 background uh if if if I was a
0.73 non-muslim and I went to a Muslim school
0.73 and then they taught the Quran and I was
0.73 upset about that well then would that
0.73 give me the right to to sort of say
0.73 shame on them for teaching the Quran
0.73 well no it&;s a Muslim school you should
0.73 expect them to teach the Quran yeah um
0.73 and so likewise at a Catholic school we
0.73 should be able to expect the Catholic
0.73 School to teach the Catholic faith and
0.73 to have a Catholic speaker present the
0.73 faith in its beauty in a loving and
0.73 charitable way and then you know I think
0.73 there&;s been a misunderstanding
0.73 completely uh and we probably should
0.73 give a bit of a background what&;s we
0.73 sort of jumped into what&;s happened and
0.73 not many people know what&;s happened
0.73 here and was like so so this is Jason&;s
0.73 um seventh tour and this to be honest on
0.73 one hand it was the easiest one to
0.73 organize because the buyin was so
0.73 positive uh broken Bay dasis the first
0.73 time to have Jason being doing great
0.73 work they had they wanted every student
0.73 to to listen to him Sydney Arch dasis uh
0.73 booked today as we had and then we had
0.73 evening events which were all sold out
0.73 so thanks be to God with within a few
0.73 weeks this was very easy to put together
0.73 uh it was the last week um it was just a
0.73 bit of push back and once these parents
0.73 knew from particular um in in the broken
0.73 Bay dasis some of the parents heard and
0.73 we now discover it&;s not particularly
0.73 just parents but there&;s a whole
0.73 movement um and they&;re public for
0.73 saying it it&;s a it&;s a movement from
0.73 witches now I thought it was a joke when
0.73 when someone when you sent it to me and
0.73 I was like okay are they just making
0.73 this up and you start to read it and
0.73 yeah when you read read it for yourself
0.73 and maybe we can put the links in but
0.73 let let people re read and see that post
0.73 um there&;s a formal group of um witches
0.73 who um are wanting to cancel any thing
0.73 Jason does this week and and they&;ve put
0.73 him in the same uh boat as as I guess
0.73 any sort of terrorist if you like uh and
0.73 and I think that&;s just so um it&;s it&;s
0.73 very judgmental because I&;ve pre judged
0.73 him based on maybe a few sound bites
0.73 that they read or a little line theyve
0.73 read out of context they&;ve not met the
0.73 man they&;ve not read the context of his
0.73 message they&;ve just taken one little
0.73 bite and then they&; they they&;ve assumed
0.73 that&;s who this man is and and
0.73 misinterpret him and and that&;s where we
0.73 are at the moment that&;s why we&;re sort
0.73 of we&;ve jumped in the show sort of
0.73 saying what&;s going on um and just to
0.73 give the viewers an idea part of the
0.73 problem is that they can write an
0.73 article and say well he wasn&;t wanted at
0.73 this school or that school and there was
0.73 a petition that went around and there
0.73 was 800 signatures 500 of those
0.73 signatures came from that group so it&;s
0.73 not a fair representation of what
0.73 parents actually want now you know we
0.73 got to see some of the good in things
0.73 cuz there was a negative article written
0.73 um but then you start reading all of the
0.73 comments below and a majority of the
0.73 comments were they&;re in a Catholic
0.73 School it&;s Catholic teaching what&;s the
0.73 problem and there are a lot of people
0.73 commenting that way or have you seen the
0.73 way that the culture is directing our
0.73 young people it&;s good for them to hear
0.73 a countercultural message so there were
0.73 some very positive comments on what was
0.73 a negative article and I just want to
0.73 affirm you in that just to let you know
0.73 that when we when when rubber meets the
0.73 road yeah there are a lot more
0.73 supporters out there than there are
0.73 haters just so you know just so you know
0.73 you&;ve touched so many lives so it&;s
0.73 very important but we I don&;t think
0.73 we&;re doing our young people any any
0.73 service any justice if we&;re stopping
0.73 someone who is so love-filled has such a
0.73 passion for what is going through the
0.73 minds and hearts of young people if
0.73 we&;re stopping someone like you from
0.73 getting into Catholic schools then we
0.73 have to take a good hard look at
0.73 ourselves and ask ourselves some
0.73 questions as to what&;s really going on
0.73 here and I I would encourage people to
0.73 share that message and if you&;re
0.73 disappointed that Jason isn&;t coming to
0.73 your school then get your parents to
0.73 phone in and say what the heck is going
0.73 on yeah it&;s so important like you don&;t
0.73 get to just cancel a person for teaching
0.73 authentic
0.73 Catholicism and not only just teachings
0.73 of the church but the truth and beauty
0.73 that God had always intended for us so
0.73 phone in phone your Schools phone the
0.73 principles ask why it&;s so important
0.73 that people who are making decisions
0.73 like this need to be held accountable be
0.73 respectful don&;t be rude but ask for
0.73 answers why and if the if the response
0.73 oh well some of the topics are going to
0.73 be too triggering you have no idea if
0.73 it&;s going to be triggering or not you
0.73 haven&;t heard Jason speak before you
0.73 haven&;t been involved in what he&;s so
0.73 passionate about we spoke about it
0.73 earlier in the show you see the reaction
0.73 of these young people even the parents
0.73 that you&;re going to go and address
0.73 these next couple of days you see their
0.73 reactions they&;ve never heard this stuff
0.73 before it needs to be heard because it&;s
0.73 beautiful it pulls at the
0.73 heartstrings it needs to be said my
0.73 rant&;s over yeah I I saw one guy online
0.73 who was not you know on board with this
0.73 message at all but he had said yeah he
0.73 said this is exactly why I send my kids
0.73 to Public Schools they don&;t be exposed
0.73 to this religious rubbish and so it&;s
0.73 like well well yeah and that&;s why those
0.73 parents who send their kids to Catholic
0.73 School send them there so that they can
0.73 hear the fullness of the truth and so
0.73 you know like what Sharell was saying
0.73 it&;s it&;s it&;s nuts it&;s almost like I
0.73 pay to send my kid to synagogue and then
0.73 I get angry at the rabbi like wait you
0.73 taught the Torah like what are you doing
0.73 like we got to start a protest you can&;t
0.73 teach that it&;s like you&;re paying me to
0.73 send your kid to a Jewish school it&;s
0.73 like my goodness but you know some of
0.73 the other comments were like alumni of
0.73 the school saying yes this is totally
0.73 uncalled for when I went to school there
0.73 they never taught us all this Chastity
0.73 stuff we learned social justice and this
0.73 and that none of this like religious
0.73 right-wing stuff so you see they perhaps
0.73 had just decades and Decades of lukewarm
0.73 Catholicism and then they&;re saying well
0.73 this this American brand of like this is
0.73 not American Catholicism this is Roman
0.73 Catholicism this is not coming from the
0.73 US it&;s coming from Rome and they they
0.73 just haven&;t tasted it before and and so
0.73 they they associate with everything just
0.73 just rigid and puritanical and hateful
0.73 and homophobic it&;s like no no just just
0.73 let the kids hear it I mean if the if if
0.73 it&;s so bad then where was The Fallout
0.73 from the last six visits that we did it
0.73 wasn&;t there because the kids were happy
0.73 and so were the parents correct
0.73 absolutely doesn&;t it speak to the fact
0.73 that we need to be proclaiming the
0.73 gospel
0.73 if we haven&;t proclaimed the gospel in
0.73 its
0.73 fullness then the other side is going to
0.73 win out on the narrative MH and so we&;ve
0.73 had this lukewarm Catholicism for so
0.73 many decades now and the moment you give
0.73 someone something that is beautiful and
0.73 authentic well why didn&;t I ever know
0.73 that if I knew that I wouldn&;t have
0.73 lived my life this way or you know like
0.73 it&;s it&;s something that we really need
0.73 to stress we shouldn&;t be afraid of
0.73 proclaiming the truth of Jesus Christ in
0.73 all of its rich richness and Beauty but
0.73 also even the parts of it that challenge
0.73 us because he&;s not there to oppress us
0.73 he&;s not there to make us feel
0.73 uncomfortable he&;s there to help us live
0.73 our best lives so that we can get to
0.73 heaven now I don&;t know about you but
0.73 that&;s something I want to sign up for
0.73 it&;s so important so we we need to as
0.73 Catholics need to tell the world what
0.73 the church teaches otherwise the world
0.73 would tell the world what the church
0.73 teaches so the wrong people who don&;t
0.73 have the context they don&;t have the the
0.73 actual grounding or the even the faith
0.73 in the in the church are giving the
0.73 narrative and that&;s that&;s where we are
0.73 why we&;re in this mess I do want to
0.73 congratulate the the broken Bay um dasis
0.73 I mean uh to have to have welcome Jason
0.73 in the dasis to begin with um and they
0.73 were very excited the leadership team so
0.73 I want to I want to thank the leadership
0.73 team in the dasis um and and now I think
0.73 what we need to do is pray for these
0.73 communities who just have completely
0.73 misinterpreted the church&;s teaching and
0.73 so this is an opportunity now I hope
0.73 moving forward that they will learn at
0.73 least give this a chance learn what the
0.73 church teaches and and and there&;s a
0.73 real there a bit of homework to do now
0.73 because um a lot of these parents who
0.73 may be upset over a chastity speaker
0.73 speaking to their teenagers about how to
0.73 have authentic love how to wait for Mr
0.73 or Mrs Wright for the right time and and
0.73 somehow that&;s that&;s a bad thing we
0.73 pray that they understand what the
0.73 message Jason&;s trying to promote and
0.73 it&;s nothing that is his own opinion
0.73 he&;s actually presenting the truth and
0.73 beauty of the church in a way that&;s
0.73 compelling it&;s attractive and uh let&;s
0.73 hope this is a learning for for those
0.73 smaller communities who have just not
0.73 understood and I guess a jump in the gun
0.73 here prejudging um based on a few sound
0.73 bites and so I encourag them to meet
0.73 Jason yeah come and and turn up and
0.73 those parents were missing out you know
0.73 and the students who were missing out
0.73 yes right to the schools and let&;s see
0.73 let&;s try um see if we can have an
0.73 opportunity because otherwise their
0.73 experienc up until now and let&;s all
0.73 admit as Catholics we&;ve done a poor job
0.73 in in teaching this message of of Love
0.73 um we&;ve done a poor job from our bad
0.73 actions as a church from from our really
0.73 mediocre homilies our our really uh uh
0.73 lukewarm attitude to to the faith and
0.73 let&;s face it how many people are
0.73 actually practicing the faith so we&;re
0.73 down to 10 10% and of the 10% how many
0.73 actually even understand what they
0.73 believe so so really we we&;ve really got
0.73 a lot of work to do and thanks to this
0.73 podcast what we&;re trying to do at
0.73 perusia what Chasity Project&;s doing
0.73 we&;re trying to present the truth so
0.73 that the world that&;s starving for it
0.73 can actually learn something from it
0.73 because we&;ve all been impacted in a
0.73 personal way and we just want to present
0.73 that and and these other people will be
0.73 impacted if they just give it a chance
0.73 yeah there is just to go off of that
0.73 Shel to be honest like there&;s so much
0.73 hurt that because of um all the uh the
0.73 sexual Liberation and all these things
0.73 that we we&;ve been fed there&;s so much
0.73 hurt that&;s come from it for me
0.73 personally in my life that I wish I
0.73 never had to go through and I wouldn&;t
0.73 have had to go through that likely had I
0.73 heard you know Jason&;s message um or or
0.73 the message of so many um Chastity
0.73 speakers uh at at a younger age and then
0.73 it only
0.73 took until you know I was going through
0.73 that for me to go oh okay like this

0.73 uh almost uh I don&;t know a a willing
0.73 misunderstanding just so that it could
0.73 fit you know The Narrative of so many
0.73 people a lot of it would
0.73 be I&;m actually I&;ve been living this
0.73 life of pain for so long that I&;m scared
0.73 to be healed from it um and I guess that
0.73 could that could lead to a question for
0.73 you is in your experience why are so
0.73 many people afraid to be healed from a
0.73 lot of the the hurt and the wounds that
0.73 they&;ve experienced in their life lives
0.73 I I think they don&;t trust God the
0.73 Father I think that&;s the core of it all
0.73 um you know God if you&;re all loving and
0.73 you&;re all powerful how could you have
0.73 let these things happen to me in the
0.73 first place and so I&;ve lost my trust in
0.73 you as a father and so why would I open
0.73 up my wound to the Divine physician I
0.73 just need to medicate myself and numb it
0.73 and stuff it under pleasures and
0.73 materialism and busyness and
0.73 distractions and this and that and that
0.73 because to sit still and look at it you
0.73 know I&;m afraid if I start cry I&;m just
0.73 never going to stop crying so I just
0.73 kind of have to numb myself with a horde
0.73 of false consolations and I think we all
0.73 struggle with distrust with to the to
0.73 the father in one way or another but
0.73 yeah it&;s it&;s sad because you have
0.73 individuals literally living out of
0.73 these wounds without even realizing it I
0.73 remember I was speaking up at the March
0.73 for Life in Canada once and then after
0.73 the speech we all did a March around the
0.73 block near the Parliament and there was
0.73 a woman standing at a street corner
0.73 screaming from the depths of her soul at
0.73 all the protest ERS just I mean the
0.73 voice coming out of her wasn&;t even
0.73 fully human but you could tell this is
0.73 you know probably a post-abortive woman
0.73 who&;s speaking this place of just
0.73 profound hurt but it&;s too much to
0.73 direct that in and it has to be directed
0.73 outside because I can&;t process that
0.73 inside that the hurt of what I went
0.73 through so I need to say you&;re the one
0.73 who hurt me you&;re the one who&;s
0.73 bringing up all my wounds and yeah so
0.73 there&;s a lot of hurt there so all the
0.73 need for the more intercession and
0.73 understanding and patience and and it&;s
0.73 hard because you can try to extend that
0.73 but it&;s no guarantee it&;s going to be
0.73 received I remember when I was speaking
0.73 in England I did a presentation to all
0.73 the teachers of the schools they
0.73 probably got like 300 different Catholic
0.73 High School teachers there and the
0.73 bishop said you&;re going to come and
0.73 listen to this talk and and uh a priest
0.73 was asking one of the teachers like well
0.73 how do you think it&;s going to be
0.73 received you know today and uh the
0.73 priest said it will be received as the
0.73 gospel was received and that&;s just the
0.73 way it always was and the way it always
0.73 will
0.73 be there&;s so much there&;s so much I I I
0.73 want to touch on a couple of
0.73 questions um with your blessing of
0.73 course and we&;ve had a lot of um viewer
0.73 feedback in anticipation for your visit
0.73 in a good way and this is the stuff that
0.73 are on the hearts of people that sadly
0.73 some of our schools don&;t want to touch
0.73 with a 10-ft pole because I think
0.73 ultimately they just don&;t know how to
0.73 answer those questions um but then also
0.73 out of fear of maybe even offending and
0.73 you know being misunderstood and that&;s
0.73 always going to be the case When You&;re
0.73 vulnerable um but I had I&;ve had a
0.73 number of questions over the years um
0.73 especially now in this time we live in
0.73 where I truly believe it&;s a social
0.73 contagion social media is destroying our
0.73 young people yeah um never have we seen
0.73 rates go through the roof on you know
0.73 sexual identity and gender dysphoria and
0.73 all sorts of things and we have to be
0.73 compassionate been patient with those
0.73 people but I get the question often and
0.73 and I&;d like your
0.73 insights what if I feel I&;ve been born
0.73 in the wrong body MH just a simple
0.73 question and no one wanted to ask it
0.73 yeah no one wanted to vocalize it so
0.73 we&;ve got you here the cameras are on
0.73 we&;re not going to we&;re not going to
0.73 edit any of this out M we just want it
0.73 from the heart yeah how would you
0.73 respond to a person like that well I
0.73 think that the response from a Catholic
0.73 needs to be not to try to win some
0.73 debate of like well no no XY chromosome
0.73 and that&;s all no no no no stop and tell
0.73 me thank you for sharing that with me I
0.73 mean I imagine that was probably kind of
0.73 scary to tell me that because you&;re
0.73 probably afraid I will judge you and
0.73 look differently at you and so thank you
0.73 for having the trust in me to open up in
0.73 that way like when did you start feeling
0.73 this way you know and and what kind of
0.73 triggers that dysphoria is it certain
0.73 social settings is it clothing is it
0.73 stereotypes that you feel like you&;re
0.73 burdened under that you have to conform
0.73 to this or you&;re not just one of the
0.73 guys and tell me more about that and so
0.73 the posture to do is is to listen to
0.73 gender dysphoria with reverent curiosity
0.73 because a lot of times we&;re replacing
0.73 this story with just a label trans it&;s
0.73 like well no no no there&;s there&;s
0.73 layers of complexity behind this I
0.73 remember talking to one girl and her
0.73 sister was transitioning about to get a
0.73 double myectomy and she asked her sister
0.73 why are you going through with this with
0.73 the top surgery and their father had
0.73 abandoned them and they were little
0.73 girls and she said you&;ll see I&;ll be a
0.73 better man than Dad ever was and it&;s
0.73 like whoa there&;s layers going on here
0.73 and so if you just try to win at a bait
0.73 and what they have found in these words
0.73 like non-binary trans gender fluid this
0.73 that they&;ve discovered a language that
0.73 resonates with their lived experience
0.73 when they feel like a mystery to
0.73 themselves and then they dive into these
0.73 social media places and find a community
0.73 of like-minded individuals who always
0.73 felt like I wasn&;t fitting in with the
0.73 rest of the girls I&;m not into that kind
0.73 of thing well maybe it&;s because I&;m
0.73 non-binary or this or that and if the
0.73 response they get from Catholics is just
0.73 debate and debunking and dismissing this
0.73 non-binary gender fluid transwoman
0.73 nonsense you&;re either XX or XY and you
0.73 look at social media and what are the
0.73 videos of all the hits you know watch
0.73 this guy humiliate this trans activist
0.73 and it&;s like yeah just smash him it&;s
0.73 like whoa okay if that&;s what I have
0.73 waiting for me in the church just a beat
0.73 down like I I can stay away because it&;s
0.73 almost like the church is saying well
0.73 you resolve your little dysphoria thing
0.73 and then you&;re welcome here in the
0.73 church it&;s like okay well then I&;m
0.73 never welcome in the church cuz this
0.73 doesn&;t seem to be going away I remember
0.73 one mother came to me and she said yeah
0.73 my she was a a very devout Filipino mom
0.73 and her son was in the process of
0.73 transitioning and she said well I told
0.73 him don&;t even come over to my house if
0.73 you&;re going to be showing up with your
0.73 long hair and your nail polish and your
0.73 mascara she said I won&;t even look at
0.73 you if you come to the house and I
0.73 pushed her on that and I said ma&;am
0.73 don&;t you remember and because I&;ve been
0.73 to the Philippines enough I know how
0.73 they talk about Mother Mary they call
0.73 her mama Mary I said don&;t you remember
0.73 when Mama Mary didn&;t want to look at
0.73 Jesus either and she said no I said
0.73 don&;t you remember like when they took
0.73 down his unrecognizable body off of the
0.73 Cross and they laid the corpse in her
0.73 arms that her heart was pierced she
0.73 didn&;t want to look at her son but she
0.73 didn&;t take her maternal gaze of Love
0.73 off of him even though it pierced her
0.73 heart I said your son is Jesus and your
0.73 heart is being pierced but your son
0.73 needs your Look of Love Now more than he
0.73 has ever needed it in his entire life
0.73 and looking him with love is not
0.73 affirming every choice that he&;s making
0.73 it&;s affirming the fact that you&;re
0.73 never going to abandon him as as your
0.73 mother and you&;re going to walk with him
0.73 through that he needs that accompaniment
0.73 it isn&;t just you either affirm or
0.73 abandon no we can accompany we can walk
0.73 with these PE and this mother just broke
0.73 down in tears because she did love her
0.73 son but she just couldn&;t process this
0.73 of like all of her dreams of having
0.73 grandkids running around were going to
0.73 be shattered because he&;s going to go
0.73 get his surgery and this and that and
0.73 like and so she&;s struggling with her
0.73 own trauma of dealing this not knowing
0.73 how to respond to him and so the answer
0.73 is not to give a perfect argument that&;s
0.73 just going to convince them that they&;re
0.73 not trans no the answer is to listen
0.73 with the ears of Christ the eyes of
0.73 Christ and then in the right time the
0.73 mouth of Christ with truth because to
0.73 because a person to give a person love
0.73 without giving them the truth is just
0.73 misguided Mercy it&;s just false
0.73 compassion we have to give them the
0.73 truth but it&;s got to be couched in
0.73 plenty of love and listening at the same
0.73 time just to flow on from that if you&;re
0.73 if you&;re employed as the pastoral care
0.73 coordinator of a Catholic school it&;s a
0.73 co-ed school and you&;ve got a number of
0.73 young men and women that are going
0.73 through this type of
0.73 dysphoria um what would be your pastoral
0.73 approach in the school would you be
0.73 affirming them in changing uniforms
0.73 having genderless bathrooms all that
0.73 kind of thing or do you think is is that
0.73 missing the Mark is it a is it a step in
0.73 accompanying them or what what would you
0.73 do if if you were given that label
0.73 pastoral care coordinator Catholic
0.73 school how are we dealing with these
0.73 young men and women who are going
0.73 through a couple of confusing moments
0.73 you I I would say first we need to be
0.73 responding in a way that&;s not simply
0.73 reactive but proactive meaning what type
0.73 of curriculum are you we using in the
0.73 first and second and third fourth fifth
0.73 sixth grade are they learning Catholic
0.73 anthropology of what it means to be
0.73 human that your body is you or are we
0.73 just teaching them water down
0.73 Catholicism and then they show up in
0.73 junior high and declare their non on
0.73 binary and then we&;re just in damage
0.73 control mode so we got to make sure that
0.73 we&;re educating the parents we&;re
0.73 educating the kids it&;s a holistic thing
0.73 and then also implementing policies
0.73 within the parent handbook that as a
0.73 Catholic school this is our policy that
0.73 we refer to children by their baptismal
0.73 names that we refer to them by their
0.73 biological sex and those pronouns and we
0.73 do this and we do that these are our
0.73 policies we will not force you to sign
0.73 the handbook but if you would like your
0.73 child to be educated in this way in our
0.73 school you&;re welcome into our community
0.73 but you&;ve got to agree that this is how
0.73 we teach instead of like wait a minute
0.73 you won&;t use my kids&;s preferred
0.73 pronoun it&;s like well hey you signed
0.73 the handbook you know you&;re signing on
0.73 for this education so all of that is the
0.73 proactive thing but then now the
0.73 reactive okay we&;ve got this kid he
0.73 wants to dress this way I spoke with a
0.73 woman just a few weeks ago who had gone
0.73 on puberty blockers at 13 cross- sex
0.73 hormones at 14 double myectomy at like
0.73 15 16 years old and then it wasn&;t
0.73 months after that that she just deeply
0.73 regretted like what did I do to my body
0.73 and now she&;s you know campaigning
0.73 changing legislation to protect kids
0.73 from the same things and and I said to
0.73 her if your child came to you and said
0.73 that they&;re trans and they want you to
0.73 there&;s the pronoun like how would you
0.73 respond and she said the one thing you
0.73 never want to do she said for your kid
0.73 is to use the pronouns that are false he
0.73 said you she said at that point if you
0.73 are just going along with them you are
0.73 actually entertaining a delusion at that
0.73 point and those children look to you as
0.73 an Arbiter of Truth and if you cave in
0.73 and just call them whatever they want to
0.73 be called you know yeah you might make
0.73 them happy for a moment but they&;re
0.73 going to resent you for all eternity for
0.73 the fact that you knew it was true but
0.73 you wouldn&;t do it so if if hearing the
0.73 pronoun that aligns with their
0.73 biological sex triggers a lot of
0.73 psychological dysphoria I would say
0.73 avoid it try to just avoid it stay away
0.73 as much as you can don&;t call them
0.73 whatever they want to be called it don&;t
0.73 Ram it down their throat he he he he
0.73 back off a little bit just give them
0.73 some space right there I think that&;s a
0.73 charitable Christian response but if you
0.73 love someone you can&;t lie to them and
0.73 so it&;s how do we balance that I&;m
0.73 walking with this person I&;m developing
0.73 a relationship with them I remember one
0.73 Pastor he said look if you find out
0.73 somebody in your congregation identifies
0.73 as trans what do you do he said I would
0.73 say hey look I feel like I&;m meeting you
0.73 in chapter eight of your life but I
0.73 haven&;t had the opportunity to learn
0.73 about chapters 1 through 7 but I&;d
0.73 really like to can we do coffee sometime
0.73 that&;s the response and so it&;s not just
0.73 policy it&;s like let&;s build actual
0.73 relationships cuz it&;s it&;s it&;s almost
0.73 like treating a burn victim the level of
0.73 sensitivity here is profound and if we
0.73 don&;t approach it with that kind of
0.73 sensitivity you know you can alienate
0.73 not only that person but their entire
0.73 family from the Catholic faith for life
0.73 but in the same respect you have a moral
0.73 obligation to all the other students in
0.73 the school to uphold Catholic teaching
0.73 of what it means to be human and if
0.73 you&;re just caving into one student and
0.73 letting the guy into the girl&;s bathroom
0.73 and doing all this it&;s like well wait a
0.73 minute what about the rights of all
0.73 those other children who deserve to be
0.73 taught a Catholic Education so it does
0.73 require a lot lot of sensitivity and
0.73 Prudence but how do we balance that
0.73 charity and Clarity without sacrificing
0.73 one for the sake of the other I can I um
0.73 just ask on that one of the another one
0.73 of the accusations uh against you was um
0.73 you&;re going to be insensitive to um
0.73 abuse victims and I remember hearing you
0.73 during the week um you you really hit
0.73 out of the ballpark if you can just for
0.73 us here now um your respon you mentioned
0.73 I might start it off and you can finish
0.73 it off but just the you you&;ve spoken to
0.73 2 million high schoolers over the last
0.73 26 years and you have a hidden
0.73 sensitivity to what they&;ve gone through
0.73 because they P their hearts out the
0.73 amount of suffering that that that
0.73 they&;re going through and you and you
0.73 even it&;s it&;s on record and and you
0.73 promote it the the testimony of your own
0.73 wife and what she&;s been through could
0.73 you just elaborate on on the question
0.73 you know how are you able to deal with
0.73 these sensitive issues yeah as a man and
0.73 um on the on this topic yeah I mean what
0.73 CH what teens and young adults have
0.73 confided in me has just broken my heart
0.73 10,000 times of I remember being on a
0.73 Native American Indian reservation in
0.73 the states and a a girl shared with me
0.73 that she&;s been uh sexually assaulted
0.73 raped by 13 different guys not times
0.73 guys multiple times by 13 guys and she
0.73 hasn&;t even gotten to college yet I mean
0.73 I I&;ve talked to kids that I mean from
0.73 their own family members from their
0.73 siblings from I mean you name it from
0.73 coaches from this from priest like I&;ve
0.73 heard so much and so I know why they&;re
0.73 doing bad math class the the the weight
0.73 of suffering that these kids are going
0.73 through and I share with the young
0.73 people because my wife is very open
0.73 about her testimony that she was
0.73 sexually abused by somebody in her own
0.73 family and and and she shares with how
0.73 you can actually face that and heal it
0.73 instead of absorbing the shame that
0.73 doesn&;t belong to you in the first place
0.73 so anyone who would accuse me of not
0.73 being sensitive to victims is clearly
0.73 someone who hasn&;t watched a half of a
0.73 second anything that I&;ve ever said
0.73 because I mean the the layers of
0.73 suffering that I me I mean I met a kid
0.73 recently and he was a high school boy
0.73 and he came right up to me after the
0.73 talk and confessed to me that he&;s a
0.73 prostitute at the age of 15 at a local
0.73 mall and he got wrapped up into a sex
0.73 trafficking ring and he said I don&;t
0.73 even do it for the money anymore I just
0.73 do it for the affection and it&;s like
0.73 holy cow his parents are gone his dad
0.73 passed away his mom abandoned him he
0.73 lived with his grandma and now he&;s
0.73 being pimped at a local mall is a
0.73 15-year-old boy you know and in these
0.73 situations it isn&;t like well try to do
0.73 better next time it&;s like no now we&;ve
0.73 got to get the police involved because
0.73 I&;m a mandatory reporter I had to let
0.73 the youth Minister know the priest know
0.73 we had to get the police involved and to
0.73 rescue the kid and hopefully all the
0.73 other kids in this child&;s sex
0.73 trafficking ring but it&;s like once you
0.73 once the kids pour their hearts out to
0.73 you you just never look at an audience
0.73 the same way after everything that these
0.73 kids have been through and it just gives
0.73 you this really heightened sensitivity
0.73 of like we&;re treading into sacred
0.73 around here of of the wounds of Christ
0.73 in these kids&; lives in different ways
0.73 and and so yeah no anyone who says that
0.73 I&;m unsensitive to abuse victims is just
0.73 clearly out of touch with the ministry
0.73 entirely over two million
0.73 students and you&;ve had that encounter
0.73 with one of those 2 million and the way
0.73 that you
0.73 invested in helping that person recover
0.73 and heal yeah and report and do the
0.73 right thing that&;s love yeah because
0.73 love often times takes a lot of effort
0.73 and sacrifice as we all know and I can
0.73 only imagine you multiplying those
0.73 examples and that&;s the man right here
0.73 that people want to crucify in the media
0.73 right now yeah and and want to stop from
0.73 going into schools and the that&;s the
0.73 man the key isn&;t just to love the abuse
0.73 victim but the
0.73 abuser that&;s the the the extraordinary
0.73 love that&;s needed I I remember meeting
0.73 a uh a boy once and he said he&;s been
0.73 addicted to really bad porn he said it&;s
0.73 getting really bad because I&;m really
0.73 getting into the violent stuff and he
0.73 said I&;m starting to get dissatisfied
0.73 with that and I want to do it like I
0.73 want to act out the violent pornography
0.73 that I&;m seeing and so I said we need to
0.73 be in touch and I and I got in touch
0.73 with him his family and we got him
0.73 counseling and and helped you know fund
0.73 for the counseling for this kid to to
0.73 meet with like a sex addiction therapist
0.73 because if that 15-year-old doesn&;t
0.73 break that addtion ition you&;re going to
0.73 have a monster in 5 years and the
0.73 Carnage that that one kid could create
0.73 in the lives of others if he&;s not
0.73 healed is just unbelievable and so we
0.73 we&;ve got to be able to not only
0.73 minister to the victims but to to the
0.73 people who are in the cusp of doing
0.73 these things or the ones who already
0.73 have of like okay because the kids will
0.73 you know confide this stuff in me and
0.73 being a mandatory reporter there&;s a lot
0.73 of cases where you hate to have to do it
0.73 but it&;s like man this kid&;s told no one
0.73 this ever before and now I&;m the first
0.73 person they&;ve told and now I have to go
0.73 tell the police and this it&;s going to
0.73 break that kid&;s heart but it&;s like
0.73 what&;s the alternative just keep it a
0.73 secret and then someone later&;s like why
0.73 don&;t you tell anybody well I told the
0.73 chassity speaker you know it puts you in
0.73 some difficult situations but yeah we&;ve
0.73 got to make sure that the the victims
0.73 aren&;t only getting the healing that
0.73 they need but the abusers are getting
0.73 the justice and the healing that they
0.73 need that&;s another big topic uh
0.73 pornography because again there&;s a
0.73 divide and I was I was surprised to
0.73 see the parents one of the accusations
0.73 was that you talk about the problems of
0.73 porn and that&;s a bad thing and so could
0.73 you can we um so can we just okay what&;s
0.73 what&;s wrong with pornography I mean
0.73 you&;re hurting no one this is the
0.73 understanding so who are you hurting in
0.73 pornography what&;s wrong with it what
0.73 what what have you got against
0.73 pornography who are you not hurting in
0.73 pornography I mean that&;s that&;s the
0.73 question I mean where do you even want
0.73 to begin there I mean you think of just
0.73 think of a husband and a father you know
0.73 sitting off in his you know office away
0.73 from his wife while she&;s asleep and the
0.73 kids are in bed looking at his stuff on
0.73 his computer hey it&;s a victimless crime
0.73 oh really well maybe your wife needs
0.73 your arm around her right now cuz she
0.73 had a hard day instead of you isolated
0.73 in your computer having some erotic
0.73 moment with your laptop She&;s suffering
0.73 from that your children are suffering
0.73 because you&;re not the man you&;re
0.73 supposed to be an image of the heavenly
0.73 father to your kids it&;s it&;s the
0.73 presence of that absence of the man
0.73 you&;re supposed to be they&;re suffering
0.73 the woman on the other side of the
0.73 screen isn&;t just a collection of pixels
0.73 that&;s a human being you know who may be
0.73 sex trafficked right now or or maybe
0.73 she&;s out of the industry maybe she&;s
0.73 dead and you&;re still lusting after
0.73 pictures of her on the internet I mean
0.73 this is not a victimless crime I mean I
0.73 remember speaking because i&; I&;ve met
0.73 some of the women in the industry and I
0.73 remember reading of one where she had to
0.73 quit porn she said after the fourth
0.73 abortion it just became too much because
0.73 they didn&;t want them using protection
0.73 in these scenes or whatever and so she
0.73 said the first one was devastating the
0.73 second the third the fourth abortion but
0.73 imagine if you were to see a
0.73 pornographic film and realize in that
0.73 act
0.73 that I&;m witnessing a child is being
0.73 conceived that in a couple of weeks will
0.73 be aborted and then that woman will go
0.73 through depression and she&;ll be
0.73 struggling with alcoholism and all of
0.73 these things if you could see that how
0.73 much gratification could you get out of
0.73 watching that scene of the Carnage that
0.73 would flow from that that&;s why if the
0.73 full woman in pornography was shown the
0.73 industry would go bankrupt it can&;t show
0.73 the full woman it can&;t show her
0.73 childhood remember Pamela Anderson is a
0.73 porn star in America she was on the
0.73 Howard Stern podcast and he&;s like yeah
0.73 you know you got people saying that porn
0.73 stars are all been sexually abused as
0.73 little kids and then they grow up to be
0.73 you know these porn stars that&;s not
0.73 true you weren&;t molested were you yeah
0.73 nice question to ask a woman on a live
0.73 show and for and she&;s like oh no no I&;m
0.73 doing this because I you know celebrate
0.73 my sexuality and I&;m a sensual person
0.73 and I enjoy it and it&;s liberating and
0.73 then her biography came out years ago
0.73 and she said yeah I was molested by a
0.73 babysitter when I was a little kid and
0.73 then it was my boyfriend who date raped
0.73 me and then I was gang raped by multiple
0.73 other guys and then I had lost all sense
0.73 of boundaries and value for my body and
0.73 then I came into the porn industry she&;s
0.73 not going to say that on the Howard
0.73 Stern Show but it&;s it&;s it&;s right
0.73 there in the biography and so if you saw
0.73 the full woman you know the porn
0.73 industry can&;t do that it has to reduce
0.73 it to a collection of body parts to stay
0.73 in business and even those body parts I
0.73 mean so much of it being trafficked you
0.73 know the sex trafficking industry the
0.73 corruption there the little kid I mean
0.73 it&;s just heartbreaking and so this it&;s
0.73 like the bigger the LIE is the more
0.73 people are going to believe it it&;s like
0.73 nobody&;s harmed oh really you know how
0.73 about the the the porn addict who could
0.73 spend eternally eternity isolated from
0.73 God because he never broke this habit
0.73 that&;s kind of harmed so you&;ve got the
0.73 viewer the spouse the children the
0.73 people in the industry the woman behind
0.73 the camera like everybody is harmed and
0.73 so this idea that nobody&;s harming
0.73 nothing could be further from the truth
0.73 the um it&;s actually interesting that
0.73 what the church has been teaching about
0.73 the Dignity of the human person and the
0.73 damages of
0.73 pornography only now are the
0.73 psychological field bus coming out with
0.73 studies saying that porn is damaging to

0.73 summer with my kids the the the whole
0.73 theme of the movie is to take out the
0.73 the enemy&;s weapon and okay well what&;s
0.73 the weapon that God has holy families
0.73 and so all of the enemy&;s missiles are

0.73 was doing talks this week on global
0.73 warming in the Catholic high schools I
0.73 don&;t think the witches would be having
0.73 a fit over this but the fact that we&;re
0.73 talking about marriage Chastity
0.73 vocations Purity it it it draws all of
0.73 their eye because this is the weapon

0.73 has one of the marriages that is in the
0.73 public Limelight at the moment is um the
0.73 Kansas City Chief&;s punter Harrison
0.73 buter um he gave a beautiful
0.73 commencement speech at a benedi and
0.73 college about a week or two ago and the
0.73 guy I encourage people to actually seek
0.73 that speech out and watch it because the
0.73 guy P his heart out how much he loves
0.73 his wife and the reason they&;re
0.73 attacking him is because he thanked his
0.73 wife for being faithful to him for
0.73 loving him for sacrificing for him for
0.73 loving their children and for being a
0.73 homemaker for actually being someone who
0.73 takes pride in her family at home now
0.73 this get this resulted in news headlines
0.73 around the world and this is what it is
0.73 it&;s that attack yeah they don&;t want
0.73 good and holy families and they&;re
0.73 calling for his contract to be ripped up
0.73 the the NFL have distanced themselves
0.73 from from him based on what he said and
0.73 he didn&;t say anything wrong but I think
0.73 what we&;re seeing um with these witches
0.73 and with these um it&;s the it&;s the
0.73 whole anti- good like we we want to be
0.73 God we want to be God we don&;t want
0.73 anyone to tell us what to do I think
0.73 they referenced that too they referenced
0.73 that in in one of the posts as well like
0.73 some of the news articles were tying me
0.73 into Harrison bucker like this is not
0.73 what we need in our schools that women
0.73 should be barefoot pregnant in the
0.73 kitchen so you you guys are in that
0.73 you&;re in that ccle of news at the
0.73 moment so they they latch on to each
0.73 other it&;s very evident that they do
0.73 that but what we&;re seeing is an an
0.73 extreme form of feminism that I think
0.73 has been going going going going MH and
0.73 the messages that Harrison yourself
0.73 other good strong women in the world are
0.73 delivering are a threat to that message
0.73 MH and they&;re like okay so in we have
0.73 to do everything we can to destroy this
0.73 message because it&;s going to stunt our
0.73 growth it&;s going to stunt our progress
0.73 yeah it&;s really I&;m I&;m I&;m very I&;m
0.73 very pleased that we&;re able to have
0.73 this conversation today to talk about
0.73 these things because we don&;t believe in
0.73 cancel culture we believe in good civil
0.73 conversation and one of the messages
0.73 that we were giving to the students at
0.73 the end of the day today and I have no
0.73 doubt will be given on and on and on
0.73 is you might have only heard this
0.73 message for the first time now and when
0.73 you do hear it it is going to tug at the
0.73 heartstrings there might even be a
0.73 tension within you because you&;ve only
0.73 ever heard the
0.73 opposite what advice would you give to
0.73 people who are struggling with that
0.73 message as they encounter you for the
0.73 first time yeah the struggle&;s good you
0.73 know and if it&;s almost like if you if
0.73 you bite into an apple and you get the
0.73 seed you know you might want to spit it
0.73 out but you know it&;s like take from my
0.73 chassity talk what&;s good you know that
0.73 like yeah I can relate to this that that
0.73 one that little part I&;m wrestling with
0.73 that don&;t throw it away because you
0.73 might feel find that that seed of the
0.73 Apple ends up being the most valuable
0.73 part of the whole thing because you
0.73 could plant an orchard with that so
0.73 don&;t just throw it away there could be
0.73 value in the thing that&;s the hardest to
0.73 take in so just set it aside absorb
0.73 what&;s good and then chew on that a
0.73 little while like why was there so much
0.73 good stuff but then that thing I&;m
0.73 really wrestling with you know it&;s okay
0.73 to wrestle with that stuff take it to
0.73 God talk to people who you respect and
0.73 admire like why is it you know the
0.73 church is against this or the church is
0.73 for that I don&;t get it
0.73 wrestle with these things I remember
0.73 seeing a sign at a college campus once
0.73 that said you know if uh you&;re a
0.73 student here and you hear someone
0.73 present a message on this campus that
0.73 triggers you and you feel unsafe and
0.73 offended immediately call up your
0.73 parents and have them pick you up
0.73 because you&;re not ready for college it
0.73 was just this message of just like get
0.73 ready to be exposed to new challenging
0.73 ideas that&;s the whole point of the
0.73 University setting and if you can&;t
0.73 handle that and the fact that somebody
0.73 has a different View view point than you
0.73 do do and that just triggers the heck
0.73 out of you it&;s time to grow up we we
0.73 don&;t need to protect young adults from
0.73 strong messages like hey let&;s let have
0.73 enough it shows how little confidence we
0.73 have in their brains that we have to
0.73 protect them of like heaven forbid the
0.73 women hear a message about modesty let
0.73 them be critical thinkers is this guy
0.73 full of hot air or is he making some
0.73 good points let&;s engage these difficult
0.73 conversations and have civil discourse
0.73 and if we&;re incapable of that it it
0.73 shows that we&;re afraid amen I do want
0.73 to add um the whole idea of um this
0.73 toxic masculinity well there&;s a toxic
0.73 femininity too this idea of um we have
0.73 to be the same as in literally the same
0.73 um and and I think that&;s that&;s a real
0.73 lie the idea is male and female we are
0.73 it&;s not that one is better than the
0.73 other we&;re equal in dignity equal in
0.73 dignity but not the same so we have
0.73 different roles and they complement each
0.73 other and we&;re actually battle Partners
0.73 literally the word in Hebrew is a battle
0.73 partner Adam and Eve were battle
0.73 partners and so we are equal in dignity
0.73 but not the same and so I think we have
0.73 to really turn the narrative around and
0.73 say stop lying to ourselves we don&;t
0.73 want women to become men and men to
0.73 become women we want you to embrace who
0.73 you are and that&;s what we&;re very
0.73 confused at the moment we don&;t know
0.73 what that is and so that&;s why we we
0.73 we&;re sort of living this confusion
0.73 confusing state but it&;s it&;s it&;s the
0.73 question is do I want to be the opposite
0.73 sex or do I want to embrace who I am and
0.73 which is better worse it&;s that&;s the
0.73 wrong question and I think that&;s where
0.73 we we&;re falling into the Trap um men
0.73 can do this and then women can do that
0.73 well no that&;s the wrong question it&;s
0.73 it&;s we got to compliment each other
0.73 Embrace who you are in your image and
0.73 likeness of God well again shell and
