YouTube so hey friend I told you I would make you a video and here it is uh this the question is I want to stop masturbating and I actually went on a streak and I was feeling better but I just want to look at naked women and I don’t want to masturbate but I don’t have a partner and I don’t have anybody to get those good feelings with or from so what does what’s a guy to do here’s what I want you to understand first of all Rome wasn’t built in a day what we’re talking about here is actually a huge Journey from addictive sexuality to healthy sexuality this is not the flip of a switch so I want you to know that and I want you to know that intimacy is really at the core of the issue that you’re talking about not sex because at the root of healthy sexuality is building connection and intimacy and relational sex and shared experiences what’s at the core of addictive sexuality is avoiding that so we’re talking about building intimacy here now those urges that you feel to look at naked women they’re actually calls for mood regulation you taught your brain a really long time ago when you were an adolescent you taught your brain that the way to feel good is through looking at images or pornography and masturbating that’s the tool in your toolbox or the number one tool in your toolbox so that’s what you know to go to if you need to feel better and you’ve likely built that habit over a long time so it’s like if you see a nail everywhere the hammer is the tool that you need so if you’re stressed out if you’re bored or if you’ve built your life that your stress reduction tool is porn or masturbation it’s the thing that you go to so now is the time to re-teach your brain rewire it to not go to porn not go to images not go to masturbation to feel good to go to other things to feel good and take the edge off the stress of humanity trust me I know all about the stress of humanity and I’m doubling down on my healthy stress reduction activities you know a new thing I’ve got going it’s absolutely ridiculous but amazing all at the same time I bought a personal fitness trampoline and because my house is moldified I am in a townhouse and I use my [ __ ] right down there on my back patio that’s overlooked by approximately A Hundred Apartments yep I know what you’re thinking that means at any given time there’s approximately 200 people watching me [ __ ] absolutely but I’m out there rocking it having a blast offloading stress it’s become my new boxing because my box in general is in here and it’s really good to get all the toxins out of my system but it feels great too so I’ve incorporated into my workout and man is it offloading stress for me that’s something let’s get the world tramping together right uh okay so that’s something that you can do find something that you’ve always wanted to do that was recommended to me by a friend so maybe a friend has a recommendation for you something healthy so you can offload stress and fill your Void that void in your day where you used to watch porn or you used to masturbate or you used to look at images fill it with something that actually feeds your soul when you do that you can break the link in your brain that brings you back to masturbation now let’s talk about the second part of your question the second part of the question was you know what about strip joints what about paying women that is like porn but on steroids that’s having a human being fulfill the pleasure seeking insatiable dopamine wanting mechanism in your brain that’s having a person feed that unhealthy need for you that’s not the solution the solution is reduce your stress and boredom in a healthy way and simultaneously start building healthy intimacy intimacy is what leads you towards healthy sexuality you can’t just have sex with someone with and have it no intimacy and it be healthy sex you can’t it’s literally not possible I know you’re probably gonna blow me up with comments on this YouTube channel saying oh yeah I have sex all the time and it feels great to me but healthy sexuality has an element to it of pair bonding that’s how humans were designed not just mating humans have an evolutionarily pushed need to bond and be with someone not just for the mating event so what happens is when you’re healthy you know that you don’t want to just have sex with some Rando you want it to be someone that you care about because that person becomes etched in the fabric of your life yes I just said that that’s what I tell my beautiful children and it’s true when you look back at your life do you want to look back at a laundry list of people who you basically use to have sex with to make your brain feel good no at the end of your life what you want to look back at is your shared experiences with other people including sexual experiences so that element of connection involves oxytocin it involves relational sex where you’re sharing the experience and it involves intimacy so the way that you start building intimacy is starting connecting be be willing and vulnerable to go out and meet new people be willing to share yourself deeper with your friends be willing to tell your family that you love them be willing to forgive your family for the wounds of the past forgive yourself be vulnerable open up that is what life is about not chasing down pleasure when you chase down pleasure you actually don’t give yourself the opportunity to be on purpose that’s the self-sabotaging peace if you’re just looking for a hit of dopamine you can’t get your brain into the green zone that Medium middle speed of calm Focus because you’re always swinging your brain between the pendulum effect that is not the way to succeed in the moment or in life so what we’re talking about here is executive control it’s about being able to put off that hit of dopamine or that feel-good feeling in the moment for the greater good or for the bigger reward later on I made a video about the gorilla in the hull of your ship or the captain up in the frontal lobe of the brain that’s that is the ship of your life you want the captain to be healthy and to be driving that ship in a very intentional Direction so that when you look back at your life you’ve created exactly what you wanted to not that your ship floated around with a thousand pound gorilla who only wants bananas and wants them now and he just took you after the bananas and you got nowhere you never left the harbor because that gorilla wanted bananas that is ridiculous so you tell tell that gorilla not today my friend I’m taking over the ship of my life I
